I read Tosh wasn't good at calling plays at Alabama. Great hire if Ash is the play caller.

Yeah he said that we should take Muschamp declining only at face value because it’s a public negotiation so Texas just needs to up their offer

Well, that was the expectation on the Muschamp side. In response, Texas turned its eye to Odoms. So it will be interesting to see who flinches, if either side does flinch.

I suppose Texas may throw out another offer with a little more money, but probably not as much as Muschamp was expecting.

Yes, Texas has money. But we just finished spending $25-6 million to get to this point. I'm glad UT side is not just making it rain money.

Not really. Jalon Catalon is a beast at safety ... too much so at times. One of their LBs was named an all-American and the other LB had over 100 tackles, so he at least had a few Jimmy's. Missouri ran up and down the field on them. Arkansas gave up about a 75-yard scoring drive in 46 seconds to end the game. Odom is OK, but not a home run hire, IMO.

Will is playing with house money, Im sure he got his contract bought out at SCAR, and he knows what UT is capable of paying, isn't the ND DC job open too, he will only go unemployed by his own choice..

‘Texas will always have a special place in my heart’: Tom Herman makes first public comments since his firing




Tom Herman, fired as Texas football coach Saturday after going 32-18 in four seasons, released his first public comments Monday to Yahoo Sports.

In the four-paragraph statement, Herman made no reference to the Texas administration or the school’s board of regents

”I am extremely thankful for the opportunity to have been the head coach of the University of Texas,” Herman said. “It has been a great honor, and as an alumnus, Texas will always a special place in my heart.

“I also want to thank the players that I’ve been blessed to coach. You have represented the university with dignity and have given your all in an effort to make your program better.

“And to the coaches and staff who have poured their heart and soul into this program, my appreciation has no bounds. Your efforts have been the backbone of our success.

“Finally, my family and I wish nothing but success and happiness to Longhorn nation in the future.”

I live in Litte Rock, went to Hendrix and have spent a ton of time in Rogers. Hogs fans adore Barry Odom

Maybe they do in the Rock. I think Odom was great the first couple of weeks, but the wheels definitely came off later in the season. To his defense they were banged up and the lack of depth became an issue. But go back and look at that Missouri game. Mizz drove 75 yards in 46 seconds almost exclusively on the ground against Odom's defense. Odom and Pittman are very tight, so it would take a lot to pry him away from Arkansas IMO. Go Warriors! A kid I covered all through high school at Pea Ridge was a beast at Hendrix -- Dayton Winn.

I know Dayton very well! I played all four years and was a three year starter on the D line. Dayton is getting married later on this year! Go Warriors!

Worth mentioning that same source reiterated what IT said today about Odom.

He likely takes the job if offered.
