Hermann needs to go

I've also heard that Texas is prepared to go higher, if it will get the deal done.
Nothing against you SHA but that's ridiculous. Texas is just bidding against itself at that point. I'd rather UT hire a staff of nothing but NFL assistants and present itself as the collegiate version of IMG Academy.

We’re currently favored by 9.5 points against Kansas St. If Herman’s team goes in there and plays bad and loses, do they let him go now and make Drayton or Ash interim coach for the last game or do they let him coach out the last game?

Going to be a tough game IMO

With no Cosmi, Kerstetter, or Stearns? You bet

At this point UM’s decision is not about the money. He is trying to decide if he’s ready to get back on the sideline. We are willing to bump it higher to help him “be ready”. I am confident things are moving in a positive direction. I guarantee if UM is coaching next season it will be at Texas, our folks have made sure there is no competition.

It’s not looking good for urban. Go swing for the fences and bring in Payton or Shannahan

The only way $9 mill is accurate is if the current incentive is for $3 mill per year for taking the position. He declined $10 Mill a year and is considering $12 Mill. I sense the two sides are negotiating a few other things on UM’s “list of demands” and we will end up with 4 or 5 staff that he insists on bringing in and the current staff can interview for a position if they choose. Ash will be the DC for certain. When the contract is signed (Within 5 days after the Kansas game) UM will get $12-$13 mill a year in salary plus benefits. Chris Ash will coach the Bowl Game and TH will be unemployed with a nice chunk of change to get by on.
I never said $9MM was accurate.

Just posted a hypothetical of what I believe is a fair offer for a retired HC who's been out of the game a couple years. Anything over $10MM is ridiculous, IMO, but I guess that's what it takes to coax UM out of retirement. To think we were mocking aggy recently about their obscene 10 year, $75MM fully guaranteed, Jimbo contract.

Glad it's not my money. Go get him, CDC!

Give dabo the same offer we are giving urban

Bohls: Decision on Tom Herman’s fate prolonged

1. No news is ... Well, no news. No white smoke from Chris Del Conte's chimney yet. Despite all the handwringing over Tom Herman's fate and Texas' chances of landing Urban Meyer to replace him, no final decision has been made on Herman's future, inside sources tell me. That said, I still expect Herman to be fired after the season because of his average record and lagging recruiting. Bringing him back would be a hard sell, but landing Meyer is anything but a slam dunk. And I give little credence to the idea Texas would pay Meyer a staggering $12 million a year. That would be almost $3 million more than Nick Saban, and Texas would get savaged for setting a new industry standard at such an outrageous level because such a move would cost lots of other schools big money with ensuing demands of raises for the coaching elite. ... Also, don't be sure UT would name a coach before the Dec. 16 early signing date. Texas won't put such constraints on itself. It's better to lose a recruit or two but still make the best hire, and it'd be tough to quickly lure away coaches playing for championships. That's also why I don't see a Kyle Shanahan or a Dan Mullen coming to Austin. ... I'm high on Iowa State's Matt Campbell, but I think he's too entrenched in the Midwest and will stay in Ames or go to Michigan. ... Don't sleep on James Franklin or Bryan Harsin. ... Was struck by Ricky Williams' comments after the Iowa State game when he said Herman "coached scared." I don't agree, considering he tried a fake punt that didn't work, went for a first down on fourth-and-1 instead of a field goal and was throwing (poorly) on the next-to-last series (although I would be running the ball.) ... If Herman gets fired, it won't mean he's a bad coach. He's done a lot of good things in Austin, just none of them consistently.

That ship may already sailed.  Before Charlie Strong was hired, Dabo offered to bring his whole staff to Texas.  The posters at IT and Texas Rivals (Ketch) laughed and made jokes about Dabo...Like who does he think he is, he has won nothing; Why does Texas want a hillbilly from Clemson, etc.  Yes, Eric N and Ketch was LOL at the posts.  Remember, Eric N was the biggest cheerleader for Herman.  Dabo has everything he wants and asks for at Clemson. It has been noted that Alabama is trying to make plans to get Dabo when Saban leaves (Dabo played at Alabama and was on national championship team).  That ship probably has already sailed.

Nobody gets me excited outside of Urban, Fickell, Dabo, Sean Payton, Shannahan, Jason Garrett, McVay
