*****GAME THREAD: #21 Texas Longhorns vs. #15 Iowa State Cyclones*****

Wow, just think about that  $15 million to just go away .  Sell your house in one of the hottest Real Estate Markets in America would probably just add to that walk away money plus he certainly has a hefty investment account from his short time at Houston .  Just be smart and conservative with the money , live well, but not excessive and check the box for  secure financial future as DONE!

I always said that the best deal in the land is to get one of these jobs and get fired. Walk away with a truckload of money. Crazy world

I don’t know who was calling plays because they won’t ever tell you but when we get the ball and needing a couple two or three first down and run for 4, incompletion, incompletion, punt is just crazy. They’re paying Yurcich way over a million per year. It’s either him or Herman but more on Herman because if my millions dollar job was on the line I would overrule some crap calls like that. You could have ran the ball three times and punted and left a little over a minute and Iowa St would have used their time outs. Instead they don’t have to use any time outs and a couple of plays they’re down on our goal line scoring. It’s just not going to work out with Herman. I’d have Urban on the phone tonight and let him come in and maybe save us losing a few recruits
Exactly right. That “drive” lost the game.

Why can’t we get 1 yard when we need it? That ball early in the game Eagles caught and got tackled at the 4. 1 down run to the one 2nd from the one and we end up taking a field goal. 4th and 1 later in the game, Designed run with Sam and the guy knifes through and takes his legs out and they come up short. Our offensive line has a lot of guys that have alot of starts under their belt and we can’t knock these opponents that we usually outweigh by 30 lbs or more off the ball for a yard. We get way too many negative plays that get us behind the chains and then they get pressure on Sam rushing 4. We have Yurcich and Herman working offense and we have no identity on offense. Bijan had 10 carries early and then 3 more the rest of the day. I just think we have enough talent on offense that we could scheme up something that would worked against a less athletic Iowa St team.

270 lb TE running wide up and we can’t cover them and we had two weeks to look at how much they use the TE’s.

Just my opinion Tex but we never seem committed to the running game. There is a reason most good RBs get better as the game goes on. They get into a rhythm and their OL has had a chance to wear down the defensive front. Early on it seemed like we were going to follow that pattern, then a couple of successful deep balls and that all changed.

That is vintage Sam. Hold the ball until they sack him when the worst possible thing was a sack. He also overthrew a very open Eagles on that drive. He is who he is and has been for four years.
Yep

I belive Iowa St. adjusted torun game  Yards per carry fell off after adjustment, maybe why Texas guit running the ball. Maybe not?

Any way play calling or most part was same old what the f-:(. h
