What happened to Shane Buechelle, who started during one of the weakest QB'ing periods in UT history? Shane had to leave to see the field. He did put on some pounds while he was here, but he was still slight when he left.
Shane has concrete feet.  Great vision downfield, but no escapability if the pocket collapsed.  If you give him time he could pick a defense apart.  At the time, Sam was able to extend a play instead of taking a sack.  That’s why he started.

More of a high school update, but QB Grayson James of Plano John Paul II has transferred to Duncanville.

They had a void to fill with 2023 stud QB Chris Parson transferring to Red Oak.

I watched his film and I can see what they like about him. Kid is super athletic, arm looks good. Slammed a basketball like it was nothing.

Card is listed at 196. He probably won’t play at 225 or 230 like Sam. Might be more like 210. I’m confident they’re not going to break him in half ?. I liked Card when I saw him come in to the state championship game as a freshman. The QB room will sort out, but Card is going to be one to watch for sure.

247 reporting newly offered OL Jack Leyrer of Dallas Highland Park should be visiting Austin on his own next week to check things out, and he wants to make a commitment before his season begins.

As for connections to Texas, he trains with former UT OL Donald Hawkins and two of his former high school teammates, TE Paxton Anderson and LB Prince Dorbah, are currently playing for UT.

Texas appears to be in a good spot since Leyrer admits he's a long-time fan, but he did mention he has been building relationships with other schools for much longer.

Northwestern, Stanford, Vanderbilt and USC are others he's considering.

OrangeBloods added that Leyrer's father is a graduate of Texas' business school.

If Card doesn't put on some size they're going to break him in half.

You don't always get to pass when you drop back. It will either be tragedy or opportunity with what results.
NVM, I see several others beat me to this.

You know, I have to say that my enthusiasm for 2021 recruiting has somewhat gone away.  I find myself being more excited about 2022 than finishing 2021. Never felt this way ever.  Always said they need to concentrate on current year before moving on.  Right or wrong, im just more excited about 2022 now that Ewers committed, eventhough there is a LOOOOOONG way to go.

I think you've just been too distracted lately.

From IT this morning...

- CB Lathan Adams of DeSoto has been in touch with Coach Valai recently, which may indicate Texas is looking to take another CB in this class.

https://247sports.com/Player/Lathan-Adams-46055571/

- they were at Dallas South Oak Cliff this week and a source told them that multiple coaches from Texas' staff are still on LB Jaydon Williams despite his commitment to Arizona State.

https://247sports.com/Player/Jaydon-Williams-46097090/

- they feel RB LJ Johnson of Cy-Fair is currently the best bet at that position to end up in Texas' class, and he could be on a shorter timeline now where a decision goes down this month or early September.

A CB , LB and  aRB that would take the three known spaces left.

Is these what Tom  thinks are positions of need?

And ‘insider’ on another site has been saying for a few days that Turner already has his Texas edit done.

Could we possibly see a commitment tomorrow?
