Shack was committed to K State when we flipped him. Given KSU's track record with OL, it was a good recruitment for us.

Myslinski is very different. We're going across the nation to find a kid that seemingly is the same size as the average Class 6A lineman. His competition level is questionable so while he looks good on film, he should look good on film.

I think staff probably had Myslinski ranked about the same as the smaller Brock. But either one of those gives me the Jason Glynn jitters.

I love Ezra's film. But again, there has GOT to be a reason he's not been offered. Could be something on his side. Or could be high confidence in Myslinski. Ezra could slide to guard so IMO he's still a take. Play him at guard and use him as Center depth. No?
Myslinski is about the same size as Shack was as a frosh, maybe an inch or so shorter. Looks to have the same body type as well. Coaches son and he looks to punish the guy across the LOS until the whistle. I'm happy with this take. We could do much worse.

Just to let you know how times have changed . . . All American Dan Neil was 6'2, 285, the same as this kid.

Any updates on the LB transfer Fields?  Figured he would be making a decision fairly quick due to fall camp opening.

Looks like things may be trending well with LJ Johnson.
It seems like the general consensus is that either Wheaton or LJ would be fantastic additions, but LJ might be slightly preferable?

after that I get confused with all the Wheaton would play earlier but Johnson fits the system better take.

There is growing thought that UT could land both.

We're sitting in ideal position with LJ, for now. With Wheaton you never know but a brainiacs update on him today said UT would be in his top 5 when he releases it. Others in that five are SMU, OU, LSU, TCU I believe. SK thinks this is a UT-OU battle.

We started on Wheaton very early in the process and I think that's starting to pay some dividends. OU has a stellar track record with RBs although Murray's inexperience is hurting them some right now.

247 and IT feel good that Texas can beat out Minnesota after his trip to Austin this week.

He should be making a decision anytime now due to his need to enroll somewhere.

Dee....you absolutely nailed my thoughts on recruits every year.. Sometimes I think the alledged recruiting guru's just make crap up. I will take a highly motivated kid with less talent than some stud that isnt convinced he needs to put in the work.

I like when we get highly rated recruits, but in the end I just want to see production.

Can anyone believe Miami’s recruiting? I watched their bowl game last year and it was pretty ugly. They probably be back on probation soon. ??

Do you mean they could land either or actually sign both of them?  I don't think they would take 3 RBs this class and I think Brooks is a good get. Is he better than Wheaton or Johnson, no, but he seems like a guy that can develop and will run through a brick wall if you asked him to.

lol, okay, if both want to come, which one are you going to say no to?

And if you don't take Wheaton, you'll be playing against him for the next 3 years in Dallas. And if you don't take Wheaton, you just turned down the #1 back in the nation.

IMO, they are two different types of backs. I think there's good reason to take both. I keep Brooks and make him a Swiss army knife, just like he's been in HS. He does a lot of things very well.

No question from me....i would take all 3.  Im all for it.  I guess the long run is Daniel young isnt around and Ingram could, could opt to leave early if he had a great year.  That would only leave Johnson and Robinson so you could take all 3.  I think the chances of Brown making it on the field are very slim.

Right, and I don't think Daniel Young will ever take another snap at UT.

Some services have Johnson several positions ahead of Wheaton.
Let me just say this, I don't care which one they as long as they get one of them.  If they get both, even better because that would mean ATM and OU lost out and Texas gets a triple threat of RBs. Time for the Texas rich to start getting richer again.

If I had my druthers I'd take Wheaton over Johnson. He seems to have a little more wiggle and speed. But you can't go wrong with Johnson either.

This is how i want the class to end up:

QB - Jalen Milroe. -C
RB - wheaton or Johnson (strong possibility for either)
RB - Jonathon Brooks - C
WR - Casey Cain - C
WR - K. Jackson (strong possibility)
WR - Jaden Alexis (Likely)
OL - Hayden Conner - C
OL. - Savion Byrd (still a chance)
OL. - Myslinski -C
OL - Foster. (Very long shot)
OL - Lengyal (likely)
TE -  Gunner Helm - C
DL - Jatavion Sanders - C
DL - Jordan Thomas - C
DL - Shemar Turner (UT is in it)
LB - Derrick Harris Jr. - C
LB - Morice Blackwell - C
LB - Terrance Cooks (Likely)
DB/WR - Billy Bowman - C
CB - Jameir Johnson - C
CB - Ismail Ibraheem - C
S - JD. Coffey - C
S - Andrew Mukuba (don't know)
ATH - Juan Davis - C
P - Pearson - C

A month ago I wouldnt have Byrd on here, but something tells me there is a real shot.  Im not confident on Foster or Mukuba, but that's what I want.  That would be 25 in this class.  Take away Foster and Mukuba and it's 23.  Either way, that is a top 10 class. Some projects to develop and a lot of studs.  Sound probable?
