Going to say this on Bru. I’ve taken the cautious approach very much like with Trey Sanders. With Sanders I’m still in the believe it when I see it camp. With McCoy, Texas has a very realistic shot to pull off the upset over USC and that’s not lip service at this point.

Texas has recruited McCoy and his family as well as they possibly good and on top of that USC has been less than stellar on the field with folks calling for Helton’s head. People on the Texas side feel good with how things sit. With that said, USC gets the final visit and they still have some factors in their favor that can’t be ignored.

I’ve been cautiously optimistic on this front and will continue to stay that way, given some of things involved, but the arrow definitely continues to point up for McCoy and Texas.

Thanks Daniel for weighing in on this.  I'm always cautious when it comes to out of state, top tier players that dont have a connection to UT.  From a purely upside point of the view, the UT offense should look a lot more inviting to a player of Bru's caliber.  However, maybe he views himself as a piece of the puzzle to help turn his favorite team back around.  Cant blame him for wanting to do that.  Seeing LJH and Collin Johnson working with Sam has to be a good selling point for most offensive players so that works in their favor.

Is Bru an early enrollee?  If so, I guess we dont have too long to wait for an answer.

Re: Bru

Get back into your mind at 17/18 years old. Yeah, integrity, academics of course, yada yada, meet that basic threshold, then really don't you (shouldn't you) want to make sure that you have fun in college?

USC football is not fun right now. Texas is fun. Kid ain't no fool, seems to me.

He's visiting USC Dec. 1st and UCLA the following weekend.  Rumor is the staff is trying hard to get him in that next weekend ( 15th ).  We'll see.  His main recruiter may not even be around when he visits USC ( Tee Martin ).

The Texas offense playing well and the potential of playing with Ehlinger is definitely part of the sell.

McCoy is set to decide at the Army game and I do believe he’s an early enrollee.

Reminds me when I was 18 in school for the first semester. I had relatives which went before me and made me a legacy for one fraternity. That fraternity was the best, biggest and most widely well thought of on campus.

They recruited me, but it was easy to see that they thought I was just going to come to them because I was a legacy. But another frat, which was the smallest on campus, kept recruiting me like I meant something to them.

When the last week of rush came, I didn't go to the parties and what not that the big frat would throw. And I ended up going with the smaller group because, well, they stayed with it with me.

It was a big upset. All I had heard was how great that large frat was for years. But the core guys in other group put the time in and seemed to have the brighter future.

Guys, I read pretty much all of the sites on pretty much everything related to Texas and I'll put Daniel up against anyone. As far as I'm concerned he has the best feel on how things are playing out of all of them. Plus he's all business when he comes to this stuff and no BS whatsoever.

Bottom line, Daniel, you do a hell of a job.  Thanks.

Appreciate that, NTG. That really means a lot.

Isaiah Hookfin is now a 4* on 247.  Still not even top 100 for Rivals.  Any kind of bump from them makes him a composite 4* easily.

Another crystal ball for Noah Cain to Texas by Demetria Warren. How dialed in is he? I could live with this prediction coming to fruition. A nice running back class to spell Ingram is mandatory and Cain to Texas makes a lot of sense.

I hold out hope, bleak as it may be, for Trey Sanders to Texas. We REALLY made an impression on him when he visited. But I'll take Noah Cain and be happy. It would be a hoot to get both.
