It’s Great to be a Longhorn!

Well, well, well.  I really hate to say I told you so. Not. 

Our defense was stout. The Shark lived up to his name. Brandon Jones showed us why he was a 5 star recruit.  Colin Johnson got his, and LJH got what he could, both with defensive backs draped so far over them you would have thought the dbacks were Minks. Never was a flag thrown. Need I mention The Wolf?  Didn’t think so. 

Now, let’s talk about Sam for a minute, shall we?  He played another really good game.  Good thing he doesn’t listen to the noise some people make. Just listens to the people who count  good for him.  The kid has courage & perseverance.  I respect those qualities.  Did I mention confidence and loyalty?  No?  I should have.  

Well, on to the next game.  This season is really looking good to me.  Liking what I see.

While I didnt quite share your optimism on the record, I went with a 9-3 record in the regular season and Horns winning the bowl game to get it to 10 wins.  I'm sticking with that.  However, I'm hoping for your prediction.

Our biggest weakness as a team is offense. We just got past the the 2nd best defense in the conference.

if our offense can keep making the big play and our defense keeps getting better then I believe we stand a chance at my prediction. I know it still sounds crazy but we can do this.

The biggest room for improvement is on offense. That's sort of encouraging. I'm not sure it can be done this season, but the opportunity is there. I'm just not sold on our 2 QBs being the one to take us to the next level. I think we can win the Big 12 with them but not get into the playoffs.

I think we take KSU and then OU after that. Maybe we drop another one somewhere but I'm going to take this 1 game at a time instead.

Sam is improving and growing into the job. Each week he's showing a little more poise and seems much more in control of things than he ever has.

OSU is not looking as formidable, and that disappoints me. I want to find out how good Tech is. 

I do want the Big 12 to look good OOC, so they don’t weaken our SOS.  Same with USC.
