2018 Recruiting Board/Thread

If Sam had the supporting cast that Hurts has had at Bama I think he’d look like a god. Only thing is the stupid mistakes but for a freshmen his leadership skills are elite.

And his numbers would look like this.

Chip at 247, where my sub is slowly running out thankfully, indicated Dodge is more likely a QC hire with the 10th assistant still pending.
That would be so huge. Would be exceptional for Sam’s development. Hopefully it allows him to go to the press box and we can bring Beck down to the field.

10th Asst should be the co-oc, but will have play calling duties per Nahlin at IT.  Beck will recruit Dallas hard as he's definitely a good recruiter etc.  Will likely be the QB coach.  Guess we'll see soon I hope.

on talk radio this morning they were saying that there was a strong likelyhood that Jalin Hurts would be transferring from Alabama and the He was a Texas guy and Texas needed a QB.

Wierd situation if you ask me. We need help at QB, but what help would he be after sitting out a year by which time our guys would have experience.?

he has mentioned changing position to get to the next level.  That's what he will do.

Chavis is officially DC at Arky. Meanwhile Price not listed on aggy site. If in fact Price leaves aggy, I think the door cracks open for a couple of dl targets. I'm speculating a bit, but odd that Price isn't listed.

If trades were allowed we could send Shane and take Hurts. I think both QB’s are better fits for the others offense.

That's the ideal situation, we need at least 2 more quality control coaches, one on D and one on ST, even more if we are willing to spend $100k-$500k for a couple of coaches. These are very importent part of the staff.

Dodge is ideal for QC job at Texas. We need someone with more OC experience as the next on field coach/10th coach. He needs to be able to call plays and run an offense and make adjustments on the fly.

We need need to be in the business of winning rings not being the richest athletic department. Media dept is very good but we need more QC coaches. Huff appears is doing a good job, recruits love him.

Where did all this Hurts to Texas hoopla come from, and why do some Texas fans endorse it? He can't throw. Ridley boosted his numbers bigly. Kinda like a Geno tap pass to Tavon Austin deal.

Pretty sure it was Greg McElroy who suggested it would be a fit. I’m not really buying into it either.

What exactly does a QC coach do?  Are they on the field coaching at practices?  On the sideline or in the booth at games?

All of the above. Basically they are coaches who can’t leave campus to recruit. The biggest payoff of a good QC is in how fast and effectively you can prepare during a game week. QC coaches do a crap ton of film study and tendency breakdowns and such.
