2 Questions:

1. When does the dead period end? I assume right after the National Championship... I think there is usually 3 visit weekends left before signing day. Is that correct?

2. When can we hire a 10th coach? I was surprised we were going to hire another offensive guy until I saw our offense all year. That will give us 7 offensive assistants and 4 defensive? Offense better get going!

If Herman makes a semi-splash OC hire out of nowhere, momentum is going to peak coming into the last signing period. Mensa.

I would be on favor of a new OC, but Beck would have to go. To me the bigger need is an ace recruiter for the DL. Giles can coach them, but is not a good recruiter. Ideally if there is someone out there that can help with recruiting linemen on both sides of the ball, but not sure that beast exists. Herman is supposed to be an offensive genius, so he can be more hands on with the new OC. Get the offense to be serviceable and we can add 2-3 wins next year.

How instrumental was Beck in getting our 2 QB's? If not much, then I don't see any problem with replacing him. If he is the reason they signed here then we might have trouble.

I would take all of the DL and White at LB, but realistically,  would happy with Ossai, Ojomo and White as long as we keep Colburn too.

Well that seems like a hasty decision.  If a kid makes a decision over an article on a recruiting website then he doesn't seem to fit the mold of "Our kind of guy" that Herman keeps talking about.  Thats just my opinion though.
