2018 Recruiting Board/Thread

Lots of excellent reporters out there. Suchomel, EJ, Roach, Eric, Justin, Anwar etc etc.... I love all their work...Really not sure why people mock them. I really appreciate what they do,
Well, some on your list just did what you said they didn't do. EJ was probably the worst offender.

After he decided he wouldn't. Thats the thing. Another website gave two full pages to that being the sign that said where MM was going.

I think D’onta Forman did also. As he was on the sidelines watching the mess
I said this on the game thread, but the O-line last year at least made holes for him to run through. So the run scheme may be an issue for us this year. I don't recall much pulling of the O-line and for the most part the middle of the line is the same with Vahe-Shack-McMillon this year.

Yea I actually couldn’t recall if it’s the same O-Line or not. I believe it’s dang near similar. This is my first full year to REALLY get to know all the players etc. not just watching on saturdays lol but I bet he’d be better than we got

Its the same minus Connor who is injured and Hodges who transferred. But the interior is still the same as last year. But they cant open up any holes to run through at all this year. So maybe it is the run scheme?

The oline was designed for the spread offense under gilbert and maddox...quick reads and deep throws. Under herman the whole scheme has changed and so has the qb...buchelle can sling the ball pretty well but cant run effectively so ge got replaced...sam can run but he is still young and isnt a polished thrower yet...this offense is struggling to find itself..the whole offense is built around the qb run pass option ..injuries have also put a stop to the offense effectivity. . This type of poor offense production will continue until the coaches and players figure it out...freakn hate the way this game ended

The playing time is there to be had for sure.
No doubt, absolutely have to get this guy and as I've said before look for a grad transfer also.

In a healthy program, Kerstetter is Red Shirting, Okafor is a backup Guard, Cuney isn't on the field and Shack more than likely is still a backup.  Sadly it may be another couple of years until we can get to having an all-upperclassmen OL.

Teams like West Virginia, OKST, and K-State have this and while they may not be high rated recruits they usually have solid lines.

If any of the incoming Freshmen OL see the field next year then odds are we are right back to where we are right now.

On a side note, defensive recruits should be pumped about what they are seeing.  Perkins, Ossai, Carson and another LB, + Cook should all hop on board.

Anyone Starting to think Holton Hill may leave?
If enough people are taking notice maybe so. I get the feeling some of these guys want to win and will teeter back for another year if they really feel the possibility of a championship (and the exposure that comes with it). Of course that “if” is getting iffier

100% agree with your post.

At some point the coaches must decide whether to continue running their system without the appropriate personnel or to modify the system to fit their personnel.

I believe good coaches put their teams in the best possible position to succeed.

I do not believe our coaches are doing that with the offense.
