Mid-afternoon on Tuesday, Tommy Bush, a 6'4.5" 191-pound with a sub 4.5-forty, announced through twitter that he decided to take a trip up the road from Schertz, TX to visit Tom Herman.

I got the chance to catch up with Tommy about his trip to Austin.

"It was great. We had a tour of the new locker room and other areas that have been updated. [My family and I] had a 20 minute meeting with Coach Herman just talking family. Afterwards my family and I sat down with Coach Mehringer for a few hours talking about family, football, and education... I'm just enjoying getting to know the staff. I really enjoyed my time there as we were really getting to know each other."

After Texas took time extending an offer, Tommy and his family seem to be coming to terms with the late offer. Tom Herman is doing well selling the program to Tommy as well, putting Texas in a good position. Right now Texas' main competition in this race is the boys in Waco, but Texas has taken a huge step in this recruitment and is heading in the right direction.

If the numbers you listed in the first paragraph are accurate then he is a definite take in my opinion. He can play somewhere.

The only knock schools have on him is his technical skills. His route running could use a bit of fine tuning (which is where I usually catch him. At a trainer running routes).

Other then that he's extremely athletic, only held back by the talent that surrounds him right now at Schertz-Clemens which is not bad, but is nothing like other schools like Cibolo Steele.

Well if he weighed 180 and ran a 6.4 like me he would be even more handicapped. 😎
With his physical attributes he should be able to find the field. Or at the very least provide very solid back up.
