Texas offered Illinois TE prospect Luke Ford today. His dad played at UT.

4* , 6'7 250 lbs. Can we just please get a nice TE prospect. Hopefully a healthy Beck and the grad transfer can be productive.

We have DAD in our corner here.

This is interesting. Darrell Wyatt is out as the receivers coach at Houston and Texas QC assistant Kenny Guiton has been hired.

Tons of players got some big ratings bumps (and ratings drops) on 247 today. A few interesting notes:

1. Brennan Eagles is now a composite 5* WR, 3rd overall in state.
2. How the hell is Rafiti Ghirmai still a 3*?
3.Waddle, Coburn and Overshown got some nice bumps as well.
4. Still wondering why we haven't offered Tommy Bush yet. He's huge and has great speed. Kind of reminds me of Tyrell Shavers last cycle.
5. Alston Orji and Barton Clement took a hit in the rankings. I wonder if they're a priority for the coaching staff.
6. TE Nic McTear bumped up 51 spots, is now #64 overall in state. Didn't the staff offer him recently?

Ghrimai continues to be underrated. I'm not sure what the issue is there, unless evaluators didn't like what they saw at camps.

Texas has several guys ahead of Bush on their board right now, which is why they haven't put an offer on the table.

I'm not sure how hard the staff is pushing for Orji or Clement right now. Orji didn't have the best of seasons in 2016. A&M isn't taking Clement right now, so it will be interesting to see what happens there.

McTear is a name to keep an eye, as he could potentially earn himself an offer down the line.

Oklahoma DE Ron Tatum III names Texas in his Top 5. Longhorns sticking around here, but I'm still betting on Oklahoma.

Up until recently haven't paid much attention to how the whole rating thing worked.  This rivals/scout etc thing in many cases seem to be a case of the tail wagging the dog.   I always thought towards the end of his tenure, Mac Brown chased stars relying on the rating services rather than his own due diligence, scheme needs etc. (Fan pressure to have highly ranked class?) I went back and watched hudl on 2 steals the longhorns made in Connor Williams and Malcolm Roach.  I may be unknowingly benefiting from hindsight but its hard to see how these guys were rated as 3 stars. (?Conner to small and Malcolm too big at 270#) Give Mac and Charlie credit for these two.  Roach was destructive, a man amongst boys in high school.  Saw 3 scoop and scores defensively as well as multiple touchdowns as TE and as wildcat QB. (he has great ball skills) I honestly like Connors film better than Little's.  Bottom line, its a inexact science with the herd mentality of wall street.  Time will tell, but at the present I feel good about Herman's process of evaluating talent, recruiting to need etc.(the complexity/stress of managing this has to be overwhelming)

Anyway thats my opinion...and you know how opinion are...everybodys got one!
