Herman to LSU

Herman going to LSU would not surprise me , Jimbo Fisher coming to Texas that would surprise me and I would not be thrilled either. Jimbo has Florida State trending down in my view.

Herman to LSU seems strange. SHA, it certainly seems, ahem, surreal, if that far along what, 3 games into the season when they fired Miles?

Very strange. That's as far as I will go.

I'm not buying that Herman to LSU is a done deal.

However, if it is, I'm thinking that Herman has gotten the message somehow that the Texas job will NOT be open no matter what happens this year.

Tell me, was it strange in the Aggy-LSU game last year?

They were talking to Herman's agent before the season began. This was LSU's most talented group in a few years. They were to compete for a NC.

Why do they fire Miles three games into the season? Why not just let him ride out the season? Or were they trying to position themselves for some reason? They know Baylor and Texas are sitting here licking our chops over Herman.

I don't know, makes total sense to me.

I won't hate you if you don't believe it. I have nothing vested in this post other than passing along info.

I would not assume that at all. LSU is a great job. Great program loaded with talent with the natural ability to get even more. If Herman played it right, he could shove Saban aside in the SEC.

Anything can happen. Texas might money whip him until he says yes. But there is a gentlemen's agreement right now with LSU. That is hardly binding.

My only point is, don't underestimate the appeal of the LSU job.

All that said, that agreement may have been just a security blanket for Herman in the event the Texas job didn't come open. I don't know, just thinking out loud.

LSU is a great job and a good fit for Herman. His recruiting ties in H-town will supplement LSU's ownership of Louisiana.

Jimbo Fisher to UT? Yes, please.

SHA, not doubting you, just doubting Sexton. It may be a negotiating ploy.

I find it hard to believe that before a season, with Miles at LSU and Herman at Houston, Herman would be predetermined to LSU. That's amazing to me.

No one plays the game better than Sexton.

And Texas knows that from the whole Saban to Texas episode when he played us like a drum.

Why would Jimbo Fischer want to leave Florida State as he is already making over $5million a year and with his recent divorce he would be moving further away from his children which I understand he wants to stay close so he can attend and be involved in their daily lives. I think Jimbo will not make any move for the reason of his children especially with the divorce being finalized in 2016. I think he would use these offers as an opportunity to negotiate his current contract with FSU and maybe improve those saleries of his assistant coaches.

I didn't know about Jimbo's divorce. He probably ain't happening for us.

I still believe if it between Texas and LSU for Herman, Texas will get him.

This is straight from a friend of a friend's brother-in-law's sister who heard from her boyfriend who overheard this in line at the local HEB. In other words, bank on it.
