Commitment Focus: Devin Duvernay

Question, what does this acquisition do to someone like Ryan Newsome? Also, with this pickup will Texas be VERY VERY selective in 2017 for WR now? I can't see them

taking 3 or 4 WR now. Maybe one more in 2017 because they will have around 12-14 scholarship WR in 2017.
Time will tell how this impacts the WR depth chart, but there is no real way of knowing until the pads come on. As far as 2017 WR recruiting goes, I think they were already being pretty selective with who they were going after and after this addition I think they go all in on guys like Manning and Netherly and of course hang on it to Miller.

So, how much money do we need to buy a cup of coffee now?
That depends...you can get a cup of coffee from Stripes or any other convenience store for about a buck.

OR...you can get a cup of Kopi Luwack coffee, brewed from beans collected from the poop of the Asian Palm Civet, for about $80.

Finally got some gifs ready.

You know about the speed, but in case you need a reminder:

Watch the defenders chasing him to really appreciate how fast he is.

It's not only about what he can do with the ball.

Devin eats up a cushion in a hurry, and if the safety doesn't get hands on him, this will happen every time.

Mike mentioned Devin's low build and great balance. Someone could edit this video to remove the defenders and I'm not sure it'd look any different.

Here's the balance again, but his stop-and-go ability is notable as well.

I always wonder about WR's hands — drops don't make highlights — but these two gifs are encouraging.

You have to like Devin's willingness to make this catch in traffic.

Note that Devin's starting in the backfield in the second example. Moving him around forces the defense to stay alert or wind up with a linebacker trying to cover him.

This is the kind of awareness of spacing that will enable Devin to play right away.

A few more just to show how Devin can be used.

Run a bubble or swing screen to his side and Devin can blow past the distracted defenders. Hell, even if they aren't distracted, he's going to win that race.

He's so quick and his feet are so good that if you aren't watching for the pick (rub) route, this will happen.

The nickel blitz leaves a safety matched one-on-one with Devin, who can go in or out. Note the head-fake to the inside. Without great athleticism, discipline by both the corner and safety, and impeccable technique, this will happen.
