I thought it would be a good idea to start a central thread where we could exchange information regarding Longhorn gear, Longhorn tailgating stuff, Longhorn EVERYTHING. These things go on sale from time to time and I know I always appreciate it when someone gives us a heads up on such things.

I will be looking for a new hat, t shirts, sweatshirt, and yard flag this year. But I'm always in the market for unusual and custom made Longhorn stuff. The Bevo grill you see in the Burnt Ends column is actually mine, which I had custom made.

I've got 5 Longhorn hats hanging on my hat rack. No telling how many Longhorn t shirts I have. When someone sees me and I'm not wearing one (which is very rare) they ask what's up?

I know I've asked before but still looking for one is a stitched jersey that I custom to #46 and Jefferson on back. I've looked around and on like fanatics.com for some reason Jefferson doesn't fit and don't think they are stitched either. If anyone has any suggestions let me know thanks!

I could be wrong, but I ran into this situation a while back when trying to get a Steve Edmond jersey. I was told then that you can buy the jersey, but it won't have his name on the back. Something about amateur status and revenue or some such.

So you buy the correct jersey number, and find someone to put the name on the back for you. I didn't say that and was never here.

BTW, I bought and received the hat in the original post. Not a fan, wish I had not. It's one of those one-size fits all thing with no clasp in the back. So it's a constant squeeze on my head. I will keep searching, would love to land a nice structured crown, khaki in color, with a nice subtle Texas on it.

Lesson learned. I never purchase a "one size fits all" cap without trying it on.

But I wear a 7 1/2 or 7 5/8 depending on the manufacturer.

Ok, I stopped at Albertson's and bought a copy of Lindy's 2016 College Football preview. I got home and was done with it inside of 15 minutes. Not what I expect from a football preview.

Basically it was entirely SEC overkill. This Lindy guy has it bad for the SEC.

Apparently, this edition hit the stands some time ago as there were lots of things that needed updating.

He's certainly not high on Texas. Has us picked middle of pack behind OU, Baylor, TCU, OSU and WV. Hardly any Longhorn representation on the top 10 position rankings (thanks Malik).

He's VERY high on Notre Dame's OL. From the sound of it, they're just a living, breathing wall of road graders. Our defense will get the ultimate test right off the bat.

Would not waste my money on Lindy's. Everything is abbreviated. It wasn't all bad (schedules, roster info, etc was good), but it wasn't worth my money. My choice at Albertsons was between Lindy's and Sporting News. Can't wait for DCTF to come out.
