I like what they are trying to do offensively. Very vanilla today of course but we FINALLY have a plan and an identity on offense. Backs are beasts.

Defensive line needs depth badly. Liked Anthony Wheeler flying around and Hager looks good on the end. Omenihu abusing the backup tackles.

HALFTIME:

PASSING:

* Shane Buechele - 22 of 41 for 299 yards 2 TDs

* Tyrone Swoopes - 4 of 16 for 71 yards 2 INTs

RUSHING:

* Chris Warren - 7 carries for 101 yds 1 TD (51-yd TD run)

* D'Onta Foreman - 9 carries for 73 yds 1 TD (4-yd TD run)

RECEIVING:

* Armanti Foreman - 6 rec 81 yds, 1 TD (27-yd TD catch)

* John Burt - 2 rec 106 yds, 1 TD (65-yd TD catch)

I wanted to watch more from a fan standpoint but I'm sure coaches saw all they needed. Gotta wait till the fall now.

Swoopes has started 30 games and going into senior year.

Buechele should be getting ready for high school prom in a few weeks.

Shane showed he has the footwork, placement, and better-than-average release.

He put a bit more on some throws that were more up than breadbasket, but on just as many had experienced placement.

I thought the receivers did not run through some deep balls -- probably because they have been so used to floaters they have to wait on. With Shane I don't think you have to do that.

He showed pocket presence and field vision ready for decisions.

One half of a spring game, but I liked what I saw.

This offense depends on quick decisions and ball placement on the throws.

I know it's live football, but I saw too many hits on the QBs today. Don't want to lose even one QB of a thin group due to an unnecessary hit in a scrimmage. With that said, Buchelle is the starter next season.

I was surprised that Kai didn't play QB at all. Wonder what will become of him?

does it make me an old that my response is 1) evidently you didn't earn even second team reps and 2) be quiet, get off Twitter and go have dinner with your mother.
No however it is spring ball and I believe everyone should at least get a look. Look how Heard did in games last year vs practice. Look what happened to Baylor late last year when their QBs went down. Never hurts to give people a look.

and I suspect he would have got a look if the game had gone 4Q. Shit happens.

Not to be rude but I could have told her. Maybe somebody needs to explain to Kai that if your team is desperate for a QB and your not getting reps in practice you won't get much PT even in a scrimmage. His mentality doesn't strike me as a coaches kid.
