From afar, it seems like the team has quit. Now is that more on the players or the coach? To me it's the latter.

We're sub .500 in conference play cumilatively for 4+ years. There's only one constant.

They looked like they quit tonight.  This weekend in Norman, not so much.  This is the second game this year where we looked like we mailed it in.  So I don't know if it's fair to say we have quit as an all-encompassing statement.

I don't know either. 12-17 lends itself to any interpretation.

Sorry guys, but it is time for Augie to "Retire".  Whether it is the players or coaches who aren't performing doesn't matter.  The Head Coach has the responsibility for on-field performance.  Period.  End of Story.  This is not a lowly paid high school coach who has got to produce with the kids in the school. Augie is being paid a million dollars to win championships with players he / staff RECRUIT and Develop.  He ain't getting it done.  My opinion is this is the most baseball fundamentally flawed UT baseball team I have ever seen.  And, I have seen a lot of UT baseball.  Yep, Augie is entitled to accolades and The Hall of Fame, but it is time for him to go.... actually, he should have "Retired" several years ago.

For us old guys, UT baseball has been the pinnacle of UT athletic success.  Not anymore.  Baseball performance has declined more than basketball did when Barnes got canned and probably further than football when Mack was fired.  Most of you guys are too young to remember the Coach Gus years when I think UT hosted something like 17-18 consecutive Regionals.  Now even playing in a Regional is becoming a distant memory.  Sad...very Sad.

Greg Swindell pretty much saying. "Keith, we're focking horrible".

A 5-0 nothing shut out versus the powerhouse Club Aggie Corpus Christi. Well this is a new low.

We just got shut out by a pitcher with a 1-3 record and a 6.7 ERA. Just let that sink in.

I think the baseball supporters should make sure Perrin understands that this is worse than what caused Barnes to be replaced...especially if Texas misses the post season again, as it is beginning to appear the likely case.

I will definitely be sending something to Perrin....it might be a few tickets to some of the remaining games.

And the only way we get a better one is better recruiting.

I couldn't follow the game last night. Opening this thread this morning I must say I'm not totally surprised. In fact I'm not surprised at all. We are a team devoid of talent good enough to reach the playoffs. There is no lighting a fire under this team. There is no kindling. We need a new roster. And the only way we get a better one is better recruiting.
