Per Anwar

There was a media session with players tonight. As the session ended, Brian Jean-Mary was walking in the hallway and one local media stopped him and inquired about his gang involvement because it was something he heard about. Brian Jean said he was never in a gang. The reporter asked him about possibly being in one when was young. Brian Jean said he lived in New York, and all the neighborhoods were rough, but he was never in a gang. The reporter was satisfied with the answer and Brian Jean walked away.

Was BJ offended? Yep.

Maybe Sean Adams can explain to his co-host how a question like that can be viewed as offensive.

And what exactly did chip want to accomplish with his question? Guy is an attention whore, always wants to pat himself on the back for any info he doles out. Endearing himself to the coaching staff, great tactic d bag.
The only possible explanation was to be, as we used to say in the second grade, a Richard Cranium.

Story reads to me like Anwar was trying to drum up racial controversy where none exists.

Was it a dumb question? I guess it depends on the context and the circumstances. Chip says that he thought that he was alone with Coach Jean-Mary. How does Anwar know Chip wasn't trying to write a flattering piece about Coach Jean-Mary overcoming a tough upbringing in a rough NY neighborhood?

The answer, of course, is he doesn't. Perhaps it's Anwar who should be writing for TMZ.

The main point of all this is was BJM offended and he clearly was. No one else gets to decide what offends me nor should anyone define what offends BJM. There were several reporters there Chip knew he was not alone. Mike FInger was there too.

How do you know BJM was offended? Because Anwar reported it?

That was a really stupid question to ask a coach if you ever wanted a relationship with that school.

Anwar is a race-baiter. A reporter trying to confirm a source's claims by going directly to the first hand source is commendable. If BJM would have affirmed the claim, Brown could have put out a nice puff piece about overcoming adversity.

True story.

My dad was in a gang growing up in NYC in the 1940's. Not sure how tough they were since he ended up being a doctor.

Big surprise that I disagree with you. A reporter trying to confirm a source's claim is good reporting, if it's a politician or public official and a background check could be for the public good. However this is college assistant football coach and Chip's reporting on this matter has nothing to do with anything that helps anyone. You don't know what Chip was looking for and your puff piece excuse is just your imagination.

However, I am in favor in Chip devoting all his time investigating all the Texas A&M football coaches and everyone in the aggie AD department. Any dirt on Sumlin and anyone else with the aggies would be in the public good since it would bring me some happiness which I feel is in the public good.
