ANYTHING SPRING FOOTBALL!!

I'll be surprised if the starting QB isn't Swoopes.

Gilbert's offense is all about making quick pre snap reads and making quick decisions.
And you think that accurately describes Swoopes? I disagree - Ty has a slow release, too.

He looks good in shorts against air, though.

Which QB looked the best? None of them looked anything more than average. Swoopes just continues to fail when the pocket closes in on him. Heard simply doesn't have the arm strength and vision. And Buechele is as small or smaller than Colt McCoy was as a true freshman.

Locksley surely isn't the answer. Merrick got very few reps.

Right now, Texas still doesn't have a quarterback.

I don't know who to believe.  Doc Longhorn posted this a week ago:

Why all the angst over the QB position, anyway?  We will have two experienced signal callers with two RS freshmen as backup.

Swoopes doesn't have a slow release if you give him quick passing routes (like Gilbert's offense does).

Unless Heard has shown the ability to grasp the playbook (which could happen because it's simplified) the starting QB is gonna be Swoopes or a grad transfer.

Mike Finger is 100% right. Gilbert's offense is all a mental game, not actually about release. The decision on where you are going normally comes pre-snap. Swoopes is way ahead mentally than anyone we have on campus right now.

First day of Spring practice under a new system, I'm sure QB wasn't the only issue on offense.
