When I was watching us beat Baylor on their home court last night, in front of Briles, I was thinking maybe Ol Steve Patterson did not do so bad with his two main coaching hires.

What do y'all think of Patterson now?
You must be kidding.

Patterson was an ass and one of the worst hires in the history of UT athletics. He undermined Coach Strong and then lied to him when it suited his purposes. He was dishonest with the fanbase, the alumni and the donors. In hiring neither Strong or Smart did Patterson take any risk or show he could find a diamond in the rough. They were both proven coaches.

Patterson was a horrific mistake. No amount of Mike Perrin cleaning up the mess he left behind will ever change what an epic f##kup Steve Patterson was.

Patterson would have neither been in NYC with Ricky or willing to get on the plane to smooth thing sout with Gilbert. he wouldn't have ok'ed the money to bring Gilbert in. he would have lowballed him and then told him to go to hell is he countered. Patterson would have mover the academic center out of Moncrief and made it a pain for the football players. he would have also continued to nickle and dime the programs. All this would have made it hell for Strong to put this class together.

Steve Patterson gets ZERO credit for anything positive that is happening with UT athletics right now. Mike Perrin for cleaning up the mess, but no way in hell would the football program have a positive buzz to it right now if Patterson was still f##king things up every chance he got.

Do you think in 10 years anyone might say, maybe we should have kept that guy?

Or say -- "Patterson was just ahead of his time?"
You have to be a politician to be the AD at UT IMO. He felt he didn't need to do that which ultimately cost him. Got paid to go so not so bad.

What kind of a cookie cake do you want?
Lol Mrs Sho been missing your commentary today - As cool as this NSD is shaping up i want a cookie cake shaped like a ---- NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP TROPHY - FLAVOR UNIMPORTANT LOL

Was watching the UT/OU replay on LHN and all I gotta say is M. Hutchins was horrible. Thank god he is gone. Horns would've gotten more from a damn blocking dummy than what they got from him.

I don't think they'll say either. He had way more negatives than positives. I think that his after hire actions would have limited the program. I personally think that Strong and Smart will be more successful without him than they ever would have been with him. Strictly because he didn't have a good day to day relationship with most in the athletics dept.

He could have hired James Franklin.

If you dislike someone personally, as you do here, then you cannot be objective when looking at there actual decisions.   I would prefer to hear from more objective people.

You seem to like the hires but are trying hard to avoid giving him credit for them?
