Okay, I'll Say It. I Want Tom Herman at Texas

I still think Strong is the guy. He has had the toughest job anywhere in my opinion. 2 of the crappiest years in terms of injuries, dismissals, lack of support and the list goes on. He still managed to have THREE freshman AA and will only get better with time.

If Strong wins 9-10 games next year will you still feel that way?
I would take 9-10 wins next year in a New York minute as well  :)

I just think that Tom Herman will prove to be a better coach than Charlie over the long term. That's just my opinion, so take it for what it's worth  ;)

So, to answer your question, yes I would still feel that way.

This. Tired of the coaching talk. He will win and if he doesn't THEN we can talk about a replacement

If UH has another great year next year then he's going to on the top of every team's list when they fire their coach. I heard he's only the second coach to win 13 games in his first season besides Chris Peterson. Also, another year like this and Major Applewhite will be a HC somewhere.

but but remember all the posters a month ago claiming Herman wasn't that great they only play crappy schools like Tulane.  What about the funny arguments that Herman wasnt ready for big time football program?  /smirk

I guess they can put those shortsighted shit arguments to rest now.

And Herman went to a bowl game and won it.  Strong........not so much.

Herman has done a great job at Houston however Strong has won a BCS bowl as a HC so the statement above, while accurate this year, is not historically accurate.

I'm going deer hunting, so I'll just leave this here for ya'll.

Charlie leads us to 10 wins next year. He gets a conference title in year 4.

We have some tremendous talent and it's very young, but at the same time, it's well seasoned now.

This time next month optimism will abound as we start to see the last of our recruiting class come together. Another stellar class that will surprise.

And we now have an OC who specializes in turning QBs into heroes. And we have talent for him to work with, here and coming in.

The two missing links are going to evolve. OL and DL. The OL is well underway in its transformation. Finally rid of the dead weight and some energy is now present on the OL. Buck Major hasn't played but he'll be spoken of in the same breath as some of our greats one day. The DL has some experience but will be injected with some talent in this incoming class. There are more oars in the water here than most are aware of.

Things look bright. Frankly, I'm glad we didn't go bowling this year. Coaches had time to recruit and get better organized for the stretch run. We weren't playing well enough to benefit in a bowl game, IMO.

Your last paragraph is what I said and got flamed for. The way we were playing and with injuries, we were better off hitting the recruiting trail rather than having 15 more practices and ending up like we did last year at this time against Arky. I think we r about to see that this recruiting time helped us more.

Herman benefitted from a great senior class that bought in last Jan from the get-go and led the program. Said Herman on-field after the game.
