We definitely still have s shot with Christmas-Giles. Higdon has mentioned a couple of times that he is our #1 target.

I'll take a stab at it.

Are we counting Wilbon, since he's already committed?

Assuming we aren't . . .

1. Christmas-Giles. Agree, top target. Must get.

2. Mike Williams. IMO, if Stanford were a go, he'd know by now.

3. Chris Daniels. If he visits, he will flip to Texas.

4. Have no idea

We should be counting Wilbon (as one of his 3 to 4 DTs)

.... Per 247, we've made 16 total DT offers to 2016s -- 9 of those are committed, incldng Wilbon and Daniels (who will OV with us in Jan)

Are you talking about the package deal comment?

To me, it sounded like he gave away their secret that Whaley, Cuffee. McCuloch and DJax would all end up same school

And McCulloch ruled out Michigan

Got a CB of Stephon Taylor to Texas tonight, one of the DTs I mention above

From Demetric Warren, Dir. of Scouting & Recruiting VarsityPreps

He also CBd Mark Jackson to Texas tonight

If Charlie and company pull off B.Jones, Shark, Djax, Cuffee, S. Taylor, DCGiles, Whaley, M. Jackson and Delance I will never pay attention to Texas recruiting again until January of every year. Everything else they get above those guys would be just gravy.

So Higdon just tweeted this:

Some followers headed over to scout and noticed those numbers corresponded to the 'interest' number for the following players on Scout:

Chris Brown

Jean Delance

Jeffrey McCulloch

Eric Cuffee

Brandon Jones

That is the truth my man. Sure I will care when Texas signs someone early and be happy about it, but I'll just wait and be patient like our coaches. This appears to be a pattern. I just won't care who is talking to who or who visited where in sep, oct, Nov or even Dec.

My hope is that BJones is telling the other kids behind the scenes that he is coming to Texas

I think he has some influence

Here is what he said at the UA Game interviews --

"Recruiting wise, I’ve got it down to three or four teams. I know for sure Texas and Texas A&M, and Oregon and Baylor would be my final four. I’m going to UT on Jan. 15, probably Baylor one of the other two weekends and then have one open left that will be to Oregon† ............ "Texas is a team that is getting a lot of good recruits in, and in my class. They are really young, they played a lot of freshmen this year and that will prove to be good in the long run.   Coach Traylor has helped Texas being from East Texas and knowing recruiting real well.â€

And Hummer did just CB him to Texas (which makes 4 consecutive -- and the first 4 since July)

I read on another poster that the numbers deciphered to a contract extension. Which doesn't make sense. Also could someone let me know what the interest number means? Is it the percentage of interest they have on Texas?

I think that is old news.  Think back on what has happened in the last month and a half.  The season was going bad and there was talk of whether coaches would be retained.  Then came the overly public PR-mess with Cumbie, which was quickly followed by another near PR-disaster with Gilbert.  Anyone, including recruits, looking at us at that time would have thought things looked shaky.

But we knocked off Baylor on national TV and Fenves got on a plane and salvaged the Gilbert/Mattox hire.  These last two events calmed things down to the extent that it undermined the ability of other schools to use them against us in their negative-recruiting narratives.  And the calming is about to bear fruit.
