Sonny Cumbie and Texas

Traylor is reportedly receiving interest from UTSA as OC
Interesting. You think he would leave Texas as a position coach to OC at UTSA? I don't ask that out of egotism, just interested. This is partially why I think Texas should name Cumbie and Traylor Co-OC's and give Cumbie play-calling duties.

Position coach or OC at a D1 program? The latter is much more in line with the career goals of an ambitious, bright coach.

It's not that black and white.

UTSA = out of the limelight, lower degree of athlete to work with, media backwoods.

Quick, name the coach at UTSA or one player. I can't either.

UT = center of the limelight, best athletes available, part of the national media attention, name is frequently spoken of in positive terms on LHN and game broadcasts.

If I'm Traylor, I don't do it.

Larry Coker won a national championship at Miami. As to players, uh

On Clint Hurtt

While responding to a poster on HD, Chip Brown explained that if we get Hurtt it won't be until after the current NFL Season.

That means, assuming the Bears don't make it to the playoffs, he won't be able to join the program until January. A little late to be beneficial with the 2016 class but at least he'd be here to really start grinding for 2017.

Exactly..It can be helpful down that final stretch in February tho. Helping us close out the class like we did last year

Loss to the 49ers today all but eliminates Bears from playoffs. Their last game is Jan 4th I believe.

Damn we're replacing the entire offensive staff and now it looks like some of the defensive staff as well.  No talent and bad coaches no wonder we have sucked for two years. Luckily Strong is still here to oversee it and get it fixed.

There was nothing wrong with Rumph. I know nothing about Brick Haley.

I think Traylor understands whoever the next OC hire is if it be Cumbie or Gilbert he will not be "THE GUY" and thus will not get the final say nor any credit if the offense does improve.  Everyone outside of UT will give credit to the new hire .   Traylor wants to be a "College Head Coach and UTSA will give him a great opportunity as the OC to move towards that goal than staying with UT  in his present position.  If he has UTSA offense performing at a high level in their conference doors will begin to open up for him quickly.

I know, right? Glad to see you've finally come around!

We need all new coaches on deck soon. RECRUIT RECRUIT RECRUIT is the most important thing right now for the future of Texas football.

Agree 100%. Whatever decisions are to be made need to be done so immediately. If Cumbie isn't ready to take the three million in small bills Charlie brought with him- hop back on that plane and head for Tulsa.

Did I miss something?

Out on offense

Watson

Robinson

Wickline

Those were the ones rumored

With those three out that means in two yrs Strong has replaced his entire offensive staff. Also If Hurtt comes on board somebody on defense will have to be out.

Ah ok.

Thought for a second Traylor left.  Hope he stays.
