Well, he did lose out to the job to Riley - makes sense OU would go after Cumbie if Riley leaves.  The question is - how quickly is Riley going to be hired elsewhere, and how quickly can Texas hire Cumbie?

If it comes down to a bidding war between us and Oklahoma, I feel confident Texas will get Cumbie. If it comes down to inheriting an easier team to win immediately with, that certainly stacks the odds against us.

What I've heard this evening . . . Cumbie has been contacted and talks have been held by "feelers" but nothing is eminent as of yet.

Looks like we're going to get Clint Hurtt as I was told UT is going to pursue it because Charlie really wants him. There will be zero tolerance for the funny stuff.
