For the record, I don't think Norvell will be the OC next season either. Unless Texas has a miraculous turn around and wins the Big 12 or something.

SignUp Now!The spread/pistol at Oklahoma was part of his design. They were certainly never west coast while he was there. He was brought in because of his knowledge of the system. He seems more adaptable than Watson alsoI checked Norvell's record as an OC and it's mixed. He was Nebraska's OC for three years under Bill Callahan which shows he did a good job. The offense was listed as the West Coast offense. His last year as OC at Nebraska, he was the boss of Shawn Watson who was a position coach.
He made the mistake of going to UCLA as OC for Karl Dorrell where he didn't do well. Again the offense was listed as the West Coast offense.
Most of know on how he did at OU, the offense was good until Blake Bell and Trevor Knight were the QBs. Norvell was Co-OC during the OU-UT when they beat us 55-17. The offense was listed as No huddle.
Norvell has never been OC in an offense labeled as the spread. My concern is how much he knows and can coach the spread which will help Jerrod Heard. We were told we have the spread during the off season which wasn't true.
That's a low bar.The spread/pistol at Oklahoma was part of his design. They were certainly never west coast while he was there. He was brought in because of his knowledge of the system. He seems more adaptable than Watson also
I would think this will change by Saturday. I bet this is just a formality until Norvell can establish his offensive scheme.Swoopes still the 1
