Have any questions about Notre Dame game?

This is something I don't understand. People are hyping Zaire like crazy and the guy has only played two games.

When he started against LSU, in the bowl game, he completed 12/15 passes for only 96 yards. He was hitting a lot of short and simple passes. If I'm Texas I stack the box, bring pressure and tell the corners to press and see if Zaire can beat us long.

The key is taking away Zaire's ability to run. If we can shut down Zaire on the ground I think we have a shot to win this game.
Looks like the same game plan ND should use against Heard until he proves himself as a passer.

Maybe Swoopes, too?

Logistical questions: How long is the drive from Chicago to South Bend and any suggestions on parking?
what part of chicago?  i used to live in gary indiana which is about 60 miles from SB.  it's been a long time since i've been up there so i don't know how the interstates are these days....

When you match Texas with ND by position, does Texas have any advantages over ND ?
I would say we have a mismatch against them will be in the Run defense. Our DL has more depth than any of us thought initially and our LB are better than (at least) I thought before the preseason. They have lost their RB and while they have a OL (and I'm under the belief that an OL makes a RB and not vice versa) I still believe that our DL is ready for the Zaire and OL combo running game.

Btw yall watch out for John Bonney. He is something special and I think better than any of the DBs in our recruiting class from last year. At least has better hair.

I'll play.

Will, do you think Notre Dame walks into this game overconfident? Do they respect Texas or think Texas is a better team than last year?

I listened to Brian Kelly's press conference and if they don't respect Texas then they didn't listened to their coach. He had a good grasp of UT's talent.

I do believe it's human nature to not have as much respect for a team that is coming off a 6-7 season. Also, it's human nature to have more respect for team coming into the game rated in the top ten like TCU.

My hope is they will be overconfident and we can take advantage of that.

I think some of it has to do with Zaire winning their bowl game against LSU. On the hand Swoopes didn't have a very good Texas bowl.
Yep.

ND actually finished the year 1-4. Seems like a few years ago when OU was hyped after beating Alabama. That LSU team wasn't very good last year either, they had offensive problems about at the level we did. Not to mention that Chavis already had one foot out the door in the bowl game.

I think something that will help Texas is Haley just saw ND's offense a few months ago.

I rewatched the LSU/ND game and Zaire isn't the reason ND won that game. Matter of fact, he really didn't even attempt to make one throw that was semi-difficult. Like I said in another thread, I would make Zaire beat me with his arm because I don't think he's that great of a passer.
