Who is to blame and who will be our savior

I came across this article on ESPN, and thought it should be shared for those that are blaming the current staff and are butt hurt over last season.

What's your point? Our QB's suck?

Every team in the NCAA wanted Gilbert when he graduated high school. Hindsight is 20/20. Swoopes is penciled in as the starter again this year. Should I prepare for more butt-hurt? At what point can I start blaming Watson and the staff?

Our current staff actually takes the time to evaluate the players they recruit unlike whatever the hell our previous staff did. All Mack did was chase the 5* recruits, whether they deserved the rating or not. The previous staff didn't do crap these last few years and now our current staff is left to make something out of nothing. It's not Watsons fault that all he had left to him was swoops.

Watson and the rest of the staff deserve 3 years before we call them failures.

I will reserve comment on Strong and Bedford because they are getting the job done, but when it comes to Watson...tick, tick, tick....

Watson lacks the ability to scheme against legitimate P5 defenses. Charlie Strong's inexplicable loyalty to Shawn Watson will be his undoing at UT. If Strong even had a mediocre OC, the Horns would be looking at at least 8 wins this year. Strong will stay with Watson, Watson will fail miserably this year and UT will probably lose a really good head coach because Watson's replacement won't have the time he needs to get the players he needs in to run a quality scheme.

Watson is at best a decent position coach (at QB). Strong screwed up big time bringing him in as OC.

I agree with your 1st paragraph.

However, I can only give Watson until the end of October (that's 8 games) before I decide whether or not I keep, demote, or fire his butt. Don't worry, I've been upfront and honest with him about this.

Bullshit..you have written thousands of words on the recruiting thread call Strong a mid level coach that's failing at recruiting and has a losing record at Texas

Now here they are "getting the job done" in this post..... you are nothing but a freaking troll

And exactly how many winning seasons at UT does Charlie Strong have? ZERO. That isn't trolling, that is stating a fact.
Charlie Strong's weakness is Shawn Watson. If you truly thing given the "unlimited checkbook" we were told Strong had when he was hired that Shawn Watson was the best in the business, you are nuts. Watson is past his prime and incapable of scheming against legitimate P5 defenses.

Charlie Strong is a great defensive coach. My "getting it done" comment was in reference to Strong and Bedford and in case aren't aware, they are on the defensive side. That Charlie Strong is clueless about the inability of Shawn Watson to lead an offense will probably be his downfall. I've never been shy about that. Shawn Watson sucks. The UT offense will always suck as long as Shawn Watson is in charge of it. Shawn Watson has never lead a high caliber P5 offense that had to compete week in and week out against elite talent. The game at that level is beyond Shawn Watson's abilities. Charlie Strong is the one who can change the situation and he hasn't. That doesn't make for a top level head coach. That makes for a head coach with an inability to deal with the weakness in his staff.

I was called a troll last year when I said the team was going 6-6. That didn't make me a troll them and nothing I have said makes me a troll today. I am a realist.

So what is it? Are you going to going to reserve comment on Strong or be disappointed in him? You say he's getting the job done but at the same time tell us he isn't getting the job done and your disappointed in him.

"I'm disappointed in Coach Strong for entering the season with only 78 scholarship players."

The harsh reality is that last year's recruiting class wasn't a success because of the number of individuals who failed to become part of the. Feel free to tell me how many recruits can fail to become part of the team at the start of the season and have the recruiting class still a resounding success. For most elite programs, the number is zero. yes, I am hugely disappointed Coach Strong didn't do a better job of recruiting players who could be part of the team at the start of the season. i find it laughable you find having only 78 scholarship players at the beginning of the season somehow laudable.

Might as well get some benefit from your rantings.

You negative guys are beginning to make this look like the OB site. Cut it out.
Tyrone Swoopes is a lock for the Heisman and with the way our offense ended the season last year I think we will be ranked in the top/5 in the pre-season polls. This is our year for a run at the national championship.

Is that positive enough?

Fyi-Not everyone who is being negative is being unrealistic. Not everyone who is being positive is being realistic.

guys or guy? One in particular is starting to repeat himself mindlessly like Dustin Hoffman in 'Rainman'.
You fail to recognize Hoffman's character in Rainman was a savant and was right in everything he said. A lot of people overlooked that aspect of the character. Went right over their heads.

Last yrs recruiting class is not a success because they haven't played a down of college football thus far. I will judge their success in a few weeks after live action to make a rational decision on success or no success. Actually maybe I'll give them through their sophomore years and then decide. I'll also factor in their GPAs and community service to their success as human beings.

So reading this, you are correct because you are negative while all of the positive people are not realistic because they don't agree with your realism. Wait, is this Donald Trump? Screw Univision!
