Burnt Ends - 3-30

All that football info and we're discussing Patterson?!?

Good point.  I am done with the Patterson debate - I got sidelined.

I'm not hearing how Daje' is really doing in the practices.  Is he flashing or do you know?

There is really not much you and I can discuss about SP.   Your mind is made up and that is the end of that.

Honestly, I don't know what you consider substantive anyway.  At least from an AD.  If firing and hiring the HC's of the two main UT athletic programs, alone, is not substantive then I don't know what to tell you.

I can tell you this, and you can take it to the bank..  There is NO fracture between him and the BMD's.  This is just a creation in your mind based on nothing.  Frankly, I don't understand why you keep beating this pointless drum.  Do you think if you say it enough it will come true?

I understand now, that you opposed his hire and this is just sour grapes bashing.  That's fine, you are entitled to your opinion.  But I would suggest that you quit creating falsehoods and innuendos about a cat you know nothing about.  Frankly, it hurts your credibility.
Any discussion that begins with the premise that Steve Patterson took the bold move and risked his job over his decision to fire Mack Brown is laughable. Patterson apologists give him credit for coming to the decision Mack Brown had to go. The majority of the fanbase understood Mack Brown had to go. That Patterson tries to claim the credit for firing Mack Brown is laughable.

I understand the BMDs are out of touch with the fanbase. Patterson has developed a football marketing strategy that leaves the BMDs ecstatic at how they are being treated and the overall attendance setting records for empty seats. It is a losing strategy.

Last year I foresaw the rank and file not showing up for home football games. This fall will probably be even worse. There is a divide between the 30,000 catered to alumni in the suites and the rank and file alumni. Patterson is exacerbating the divide.

The measure of the health of the program is not the happiness of those who are being catered to at the expense of the majority of the fanbase. Patterson is a cancer. The BMDs will be the last to understand.

What the hell, Randy?  What led you off on this incredible tangent?

Are you okay?

Another good write up, a weekly must read.

It’s no secret that the University of Texas and Athletic Director Steve Patterson are in search of a suitable location to build a new basketball arena. Like most projects of this scope, the University and the City of Austin are forced to work together.

Permits, parking, proximity…finding a location that meets the needs of the University, students, fans, and the community is no easy task - especially when not everyone involved in the process wants what’s best for everyone.

Wait…what?

As far as the new basketball arena is concerned, a source tells us, “The politics involved in establishing a suitable locale for this arena are off the charts.†

He continued, “You would think mutually beneficial propositions are no-brainers.  They aren’t.†

Our source went on to tell us that like a lot of things with Austin politics, “Interests just don’t match up. There are people involved in this deal that do not want to see the University of Texas succeed.â€

Sorry

Are you new here?

Politics in Austin?   We are talking a city that could screw up a wet dream when their short sighted politics get involved. . .

I just found that funny.

Didn't I just read that one of the politicians wanted to force smoke scrubbers to be installed in BBQ joints?

This cat has to be one of the Cali immigrants that was elected by his liberal base.  Has to be, because no true Texan is that stupid.

Get a rope.

"Swoopes is a lot better...". BS, players can't improve, we're screwed and we need some JAG transfer from any JUCO anywhere for competition.

Regards,
Internet football expert guy
