Women's Hoops defeats TCU, advances to semifinals

The Texas women's basketball team defeated TCU 67-61 yesterday in the quarterfinals and will face Oklahoma today in the semis.  

Texas is the 6 seed and Oklahoma is the #2 seed in the tournament.

The winner will advance to the Championship game on Monday and will play the winner of the Baylor vs. Oklahoma State game.

Incredible job by Aston with all the injuries Texas has faced this year. People forget how young we are right now, starting 2 FR and 2 SO.

35-30 Baylor at the half. Great basketball game. Mulkey is probably the most annoying coach in all of sports, she literally complains about every call.

Caught the halftime stats and it looks like it is a fairly even game from a stats perspective.  Cannot get the game where I am at so I'll be tuning in to twitter to follow.

Beating Baylor would be one heck of a win.

Our girls are not very athletic. Even our guards are no where near the athletes Baylor has. Why can't we recruit athletic kids ?  Baylor , U Conn and others have girls who play like boys...Ours play like 7th graders shooting air balls and missing lay ups.....SMH

Yes I do. Coached basketball for several years. won two district titles. My LL teams won their league back to back years with only one loss. My Hi-Jr baseball team went to state ,so yes I know about both.

I'm impressed. 

I hope you understood the above comment was sarcasm. Texas signed probably two of the most athletic guards in the country last year in Atkins and McCarty (that doesn't even include Foman who might be the quickest guard in the country). Briana Taylor, Krystyle Henderson and Brady Sanders are also pretty athletic on the perimeter. You have absolutely no clue what you are talking about. 

Texas isn't losing this game because they aren't athletic. They are losing this game because Baylor is simply the better team and Texas is a year or two away because of youth.

Lest you forget, these girls were a part of the team that defeated the #1 team in the nation earlier this year. (At least, I believe Stanford was #1 at the time after they beat UConn)

What year did that team go to state?  When you say Hi-Jr, did you mean to type JV or does that mean Hawaii Jr Baseball?

Mulkey is one of the most annoying coaches in all of sports. Her antics on the sideline are embarrassing. I swear she complains after every call. 

Also, Mulkey's criticism of Aston is ignorant. You play until the final whistle. I'm glad Aston didn't give up on the game. Does Mulkey think she gets to decide when the game is over?
