In a league known for its recruitment of junior college players, the Big 12 has landed some outstanding high school prospects. With six teams currently in the top 25, the Big 12 continues to reload with top talent. We know that help is on the way for the ACC and the SEC, so now let’s take a look at the Big 12.

Most impactful class: Texas

Two top-50 prospects in Kerwin Roach Jr. (No. 34) and Eric Davis (No. 45) are on their way to Austin, and the timing is perfect. Roach made a huge jump our rankings because of his strong summer and his continued production during his high school season. He will bring efficiency to the backcourt as he will impact the game with elite athletic ability. But what people don’t know is Roach is a playmaker who looks to create opportunities. He possesses perimeter skills to put points on the board -- including a 3-point shot -- but more importantly, he can play and process the game, which makes him college-ready both physically and mentally. Roach can get beat and recover and meet his man at the rim to contest or block a shot. A two-time state champion in the triple jump and a basketball state champion, Roach is a fierce competitor.

Davis will open the floor and put pressure on the defense with his ability to make jumpers off the catch and from ball-screen action. He has demonstrated the talent and confidence to make a defense pay for leaving him open, which is exactly what Texas needs. Together, the pair of guards bring an offensive punch and size in the backcourt.

Texas desperately needs another PG. They also need outside shooters. But it seems that something happens to outside shooters when they get to Texas.

My concern is that if Barnes is fired, will these 2 still come to UT.

Not sure if they can opt-out but they already signed with Texas.

We need to find out by firing Barnes. So what if they can opt out. They will suck under Barnes just like the rest of his recruits have.
