There seems to be something of a split b/w nat'l guys and local guys

Its the natl guys who are starting to trend Soso to UCLA

Maybe they know something?  This seems unlikely since Soso doesnt talk to anyone

Word - know that you will see lots of things in play that are merely designed to get the click action going during this time. This is dog-eat-dog time for the competitive sites. Right now, about the only site and person I would trust is Hig at HD.

Best I can tell, all this is -- is a regurgitation of the aggy version (via Lucci) -- as filtered back to Nahlin via his aggy buddy Brice

Brice is also likely Nahlin's source on Mack too.

Working together, they can generate alot of page hits for both sides

More troubling, perhaps, is the Burton comment from Soso's BBall coaches.  Since that's what he is doing now.  But Burton probably gets more things wrong more than right

Yea, I agree. And I question how much and often Soso speaks to basketball coaches about his football decisions.

Burton is essentially telling you to get worked up over some basketball coaches' hunches.

I think almost all of these recruits have their minds made up already, with the exception of Lodge. Once their minds are finally made up, they're hard to change with a deadline looming near.

I think Newsome feels he's ok no matter what happens, but would prefer this work out where he's playing at Texas. He'll come if we pursue it.

IMO, the pursuit or lack of pursuit of Newsome gives you some idea of how things are going with Lodge.

Absolutely!

Here is one thing to understand about the few days before NSD.  Most schools will have their mouthpieces (usually a blog scribe that kisses their behind for scraps of info) talking about flips and trends, etc.

This is a good strategy for those remaining 18 year od kids that are still teetering on the fence.  They all read twitter, facebook, blogs, etc. and really can be influenced in the last minute - anyone see the Newsome commitment?

If they see that so and so is leaning towards UCLA or Texas, they say "Well, he must know something I don't and everyone seems to be leaning to XYZ school, yada,yada,yada.".  Maybe I will quit considering Texas and just go to UCLA.

Don't kid yourself, this kind of stuff happens.  Because if a kid hasn't made his mind up by now, he is vulnerable to this kind of manipulation.

The Boyd rumors are nonsense. 

Eric Nahlin gets a lot of his info from Brice Jones at Texags. What he's saying on Boyd is almost verbatim what Brice Jones said after Boyd committed. 

I'm not even remotely worried about that.

Locke - Tough one to pull off in such short time

Been checking with all my "sources" today and here is what I know is pretty much "factual" info on these targets.

Mack - It's Texas unless it's a&m or TCU.

Warren - Most likely Texas with the left coast a slight possibility.

Locksley - FSU unless he flips to Texas.

Soso - UCLA if he doesn't pick Texas.

Baker - Georgia unless it's Texas.

Newsome - Will flip to Texas unless he stays with UCLA.

Ketchum - Will end up at Texas unless he doesn't.

Lodge - Ole Miss unless it's somewhere else.

Reed - Has to pass this semester or it doesn't matter.

Brossette - LSU

While things could certainly change between now and Wednesday, this should help bring a little clarity to the situation as it stands right now
