Rumors after Ryan Newsome's heart-torn announcement:
- His HS coach called UT to see if an offer was still available for Ryan ??
- several days after Newsome's announcement, ou became very interested - why ? ... UT new WR coach Norvell could have mentioned to his wife that evening something like - we really wanted him at UT but we just did not have the scholarship numbers any longer at that particular time so we told Ryan he could still come to UT but not on a full-ride until a scholarship opened if he had to announce right away ??
- Maybe this is what his HS coach heard later after Ryan's announcement and he called to verify ??
- Maybe his HS coach called ou with this info and told them that Ryan really wanted to stay closer to home than UCLA ??
- Maybe Norvell's wife inadvertently mentioned that UT wanted Ryan but the numbers were too tight at the time in passing to one of her good friends over the phone back in Norman at ou - that friend got word to Bob Stoops - thus ou's after announcement interest in Ryan Newsome ??
- with a few UT leans going elsewhere, maybe now we have scholarship room again for Ryan ??
..... if you watch the video of his announcement, you will notice that it is heavy leaning towards UT and his Mother goes into "not happy looking" emotions as soon as Ryan says UCLA
