2015 Recruiting Season is in full swing

Late EDIT: I was reminded that a 3-star at Louisville might be deemed a 4-star if

recruited by Texas, Alabama, LSU... etc. So take that plausible fact into account in my post below.

Signing off for Friday.

A reminder... one last thoughtful post for the day:

As of tonight, Texas has 12 Four-Star verbal commits.

But... for all of four years at L'Ville, Coach Strong had just that many 4-stars: Twelve!

And never recruited a 5-Star.

Strong's staff has proven they can coach and develop.

And I see his gutsy relentless effort in recruiting during this month of January as a demonstration by deed and not by words... to the team. Can any man on the squad ever give less effort than that?

I have to believe leaders on the team are going to demand that of themselves, as others as well.

And I think that and the attitude of dogs is going to pervade. We'll see.

Thanks for a fun day!!!

Uhhh... Ketchum can't throw. I know we're going to more of a spread / zone-read offense, but the QB is still going to need to be able to throw occasionally. That ain't Ketchum.

Tremendous athlete though.

I got bored. I ventured over to some ag boards. It was a strange and weird land and well... wow. Just pure wow. They are convinced that once K. Boyd sends in his LOI that we will pull D. Boyds offer. I really just don't know anymore... and the level headed ones are all "sip trolls" even the one that have the stupid ag badge by their name. It was a crazy crazy place and I'm glad to be back with Gods people. Hookem!

You have to do 5 mins in a decompression chamber after visiting those sites.

We may be looking at him on defense. It is Bedford seemingly talking to him.

Possibly, but more than anything it's a compliment to someone who has recruited him for a long time.

FSU has made a late surge with him. But so did we. Hig said staff was very pleased with Friday's visit.

Well....SHA, i took a deep breathe and let out a sigh of relief 😮💨

bill,

I knew Johnnie when we were both in Jester. In fact I used to kid him about his starting off as a RB as a freshmen, averaging 8 YPC and being forced to move to defense by some guy named Earl. I've kept in touch off and on over the years. I clearly remember him talking about his boys being the terrors of Pop Warner in Southern California back then. I never even had to ask him where they'd go to college at. They'd have signed an LOI with UT in 5th grade.

The undercurrent at aggieland... at texags... is an aberration of the laws of life.

They see nothing in terms of real cause and effect, therefore of accountability and responsibility.

The laws of karma don't exist for them: good, bad, or indifferent.

To them, everything is a trick. If they can wield the trick, all the better.

But if things appear better for others, then it must be they who are up to old, or new, tricks.

But their tricks don't seem like tricks to them Their tricks are Destiny and the Hand of the Gods.

So willed, by the just forces of nature and the universe. Because... well it's their destiny. And their's alone.

How dare anyone else even assume otherwise.

I wrote here before, that it was 7th grade child mentality. It may be more sideways than that much of the time.

And no shame about it.

Is said there are three levels of civilization. Tribal life that is a shame culture.

You're a hero, or shamed, before the tribe.

Next the town culture based on guilt. Do the right thing. Or forever live with guilt over it.

Last the city culture. A social landscape with the most independence... and the most individual responsibility.

The University of Texas and Austin is the city culture. All grownup and responsible. It's all on me.

Aggieland/TexAgs has not gotten past the shame culture. If, in fact, even up to it.

What you see over there is more primitive than tribal cultures of 60,000 years ago.

Think... 2001 Space Odyssey. Only the monolith has not yet arrived...

Wouldn't it be a kick if when it appears before them.... it has a Longhorn on it!  Who knows....

Gilmer games?

Shouldn't be too hard, they got like 8 home games next season. ha
lol not just gilmer games but jefferson, white oak.tatum, carthage, waskom, hughes springs, john tyler, union grovw (which by the way they made a good run during the season props go out to coach adams) and many more.

247 posted a story about Texas recruiting. It of course drew the Ags out of their crappers and I got into it with 2 of them. I told myself I wasn't going to argue with people online anymore but dammit they are SO F'ING ANNOYING! Anyway, after going back and forth I left this and so far crickets. I'm sure they are letting it sink in to have a comeback but I'm just going to let this one burn for a bit:

My God y'all are hopeless and frankly not very good at this. We have all lost IQ points by trying to understand Aggie logic. Apparently you cannot see the school in my profile and the pic of me in the UT gear is during my re-enlistment in 2006. Oh but wait...UT fans don't serve in the military! Both of you need to take a few classes in critical thinking. When a team is down, they get back to the top by recruiting. Sumlin cannot win with his players but he can plug and play with another coaches players. Each year he has been in that sh**hole you call a school he has gone down in the win total. Why is that you ask? Because the players he inherited are leaving and THE PLAYERS HE RECRUITED are taking over!

Strong took over a program that was worse off than even we thought but he is building HIS program. The players coming in this year are the players that fit his program/plan. You can laugh all you want but Strong actually has skins on the wall. Sumlin on the other hand lost a Conf USA title game the year y'all picked him up. He has never won anything and never will. Bama figured out his smoke and mirrors offense, you have not beaten LSU since joining the SEC, you only beat Auburn this year because they gave it to you, and your non-conf schedule is a f***ing joke.

Tell ya what, let me know when y'all finish higher than 4th in the SEC. Gonna be a long nap. Auburn will stomp a mudhole in you next year, Bama may drop 77 just because, LSU is going to beat you AGAIN, Arky will run for 400 yards on your shi**y defense, Ole Miss is going to embarrass you, and you will be lucky to win 7 games next year.

Oh and if Kyler goes MLB you will be one injury away from playing Noles as your QB. Your team is on a steady decline and have been since Senior Sharpie's first season was over. Your best player in 73 years could not WAIT to leave and begged CLEVELAND to draft him because nobody wanted him. Let that sink in...he would rather be in Cleveland than play in College Station. Your legacy QB visited Texas and y'all act like it was a major recruiting win BECAUSE HE STAYED with a week left till signing day. During this time, as the article states, Strong is cleaning Sumlin's clock in recruiting. THAT is how you rebuild a program, no flashy gadgets or shortcuts. People are starting to see right through that bullsh** used car salesman pitch that Sumlin is using.

But you keep your head in the sand. While A&M is waiting for an invite to the "Who is Even Watching Bowl" Texas will be back where we have been.

Also, both of you need to learn how to spell simple words and use proper grammar. It is impossible to carry on any type of conversation with someone that can't even spell simple words or use a comma/period in the proper place.

I guess that just goes to show the value of a Texas A&M education for the entire world to see. Seriously, Y'all have been embarrassing the state of Texas for over 100 years.

EDIT: Never mind. I just realized how idiotic my post was.

I like the cut of your jib, Shambeuax

Take a look at the "Oh, Aggy" thread. We can use strong contributors like yourself to enhance an already epic discussion on agriCULTural.
