TCU assistant coach Kenny Perry on Joey McGuire:I guess McGuire would help us here. But I have to say I was not exactly in love with my high school coaches, and never sought them out after I left
As to Monarch ....

The Whole Foods here is INSANE on the yoga pants sceneI have told my wife a few times that yoga pants are going to cause me to get in a wreck on campus one day. Of course she is quick to remind me that I am old enough to be their Dad.
TCU assistant coach Kenny Perry on Joey McGuire:
Joey has a way to bring out the passion in his players like no one I've ever seen. His energy is unbelievable and his players feed off of it.
McGuire also started a men's group Uncommon Men of Cedar Hill. The purpose is to become better men, better husbands, and better fathers. They learn what it means to treat women with respect, to be trusted, to be a man of your word, and to be a man of honor.
Fair enough. ... but then I raise you a Garrett Gilbert. ....Even Mack/Davis couldn't screw up talent as good as Vince Young
Oh, I did not realize he was the smitten one
Heh
That might change things
I find that very funny
Well, he did say "talent."Fair enough. ... but then I raise you a Garrett Gilbert. ....
So you don't believe Heard was having problems last year, it was just Watsons offense?Watson killed the excitement for Heard with his BS about Heard not picking up the offense as if he is an idiot...That, or the offense is too damn complicated for college kids and he needs to change the darn thing so it doesn't take two freaking years to learn.
I don't know, however if Lodge didn't like him I would think we would wait till after NSD to offer him the job.Do we know with some certainty Lodge feels this strongly about him?
Ahh, so soon we forget these details from our youth . . . at that age, I would move mountains for the right gal. Mountains I tell ya.
....
Shotime, lol i wonder what we gonna talk about during the dead period which i believe starts Feb 2 ...

I always felt that if the only reason Lodge would come here is because of Murray, then how could he have any passion for UT or the coaches? I really don't want players like that - I want them to feel something for the school, coaches and the team.I think we are out of it
Lol.... Garrett is laughing at all of us as he could have Super Bowl ring after Sunday night....Well, he did say "talent."
I don't think he was given serious coaching until late in the season. And even then it was many times being coached while at the helm of the scout team. He went to practice every day knowing he'd never play no matter what. And top that off with playing with guys who are at HS level. So you don't believe Heard was having problems last year, it was just Watsons offense?
lol i gues thats it in a nutshell thereShotime,
The dead period is the wasteland of Longhorn fan websites - the period between NSD and Spring Training and then again after Spring Training to August / Fall practices.
This is an annual ritual for us hardcore UT football fans:
Fits of website boredom and frequent navel gazing
Frequent cussing of 162 games of Major League Baseball
Juan Grande taking a long extended vacation with his Super Model GF - Charlotte McKinney
High temps - cussing the heat and how long until the first game versus ND in South Bend
LOT's of speculation about the UT offense and the starting QB for the fall
Periodic random rants about ou, aggy or Johnny Manziel
Great and useful tips for gardening and landscaping from SirHornsAlot
The best news about the dead period is we have UT baseball. The UT baseball team in went to the CWS in 2014 and was within a whisker of going the final championship game. This season pitcher Parker French returns and leads the Horns in their quest to return to the CWS and take the championship trophy.
So we have UT baseball going for us, which is nice.
