2015 Recruiting Season is in full swing

He has family/Miss ties

I think it was a package deal - no Murray, no Lodge,  He is clearly not impressed with our offense and/or QB situation.  While it is also true Ol Miss will have an inexp QB, Lodge met him and purportedly feels much better about that partnership now.  Also, he and Van Jefferson became friends, sadly for us.

But I feel just as strong aggy is out of it.  The dad doesnt seem to like Sumlin, plus Sumlin basically called Lodge a chicken after he uncommitted earlier.

But I worry not.  We have an excellent WR class for 2015 and already have another one for 2016

Dude, he fell in love on his visit. It's why he wanted to return so quickly. This is what I meant when I posted "God bless our coeds."

It was a package deal to trip to Austin. Once there, they went different ways. Lodge came away hugely impressed. Then he met Miss Lookslikeperfection.

Posted yesterday on TOS by "athenslawyer."

Talked to my Cedar Hill contact this evening about Damarkus. He said Ole Miss stopped by the school this morning to see Damarkus while he was working out. He said Damarkus was not interested in seeing them and coaches had to convince him to meet with them. Even after he agreed to see them, he made them wait until he finished his workout. Aggy showed up at the school this afternoon to see him. My source said coaches again had to convince Damarkus to meet with aggy. He said Damarkus is tired of the recruiting process but also wasn't excited to see Ole Miss or aggy coaches. My source also said Damarkus' father does not like Sumblin at all.

Thought this info was interesting and wanted to pass it on. Hope it's a good sign for Texas!

and later posted:

He said Joey is still mulling over the offer.  Not sure what he will end up doing.

My contact said Damarkus told him he will be around Cedar Hill all weekend so it looks like he's not taking visit to Austin. Contact said last week's visit considered official because of meals being purchased.

And as a bonus – monarch chimed in (knew you guys would love to see one of his posts)

i could only pray that you could come forth with some cool facilities updates.  nonetheless, the part about lodge's father not liking sumblin made me laugh.....

I guess McGuire would help us here.  But I have to say I was not exactly in love with my high school coaches, and never sought them out after I left

As to Monarch ....

I remember your post SHA.  The UT Sorority girl he met and became smitten with... like a magnet he is being pulled back to pledge CS and the 4000 Acres!

The lovely Co-Ed and UT Football are two irresistible forces in the known universe.

Hook 'Em!

That would be a sick defense. ..

Thats the thing.  We need Mack to complete it.  But if he follows through, it will be a defensive class for the ages.

Omenihu__Mack__Lampkin__Vasser (Hager if needed)

Townsend__Cherry__Wheeler__Jefferson__Hager

Boyd__D.Davis__Hill

Elliott__J.Johnson

2 to 3 to 4 years of most of  these guys all together

I mean wow!

Was this before or after he tried to set up a visit to Texas for this weekend?
After. I read it late this morning that he either let them know last night or early this morning after KM announced he was staying with Ag. I'd love for him to come but I don't think he will. I all but 100% positive he will be at Ole Miss next year.

SHA I'm guessing I'm late to the party

You think there is a good chance that we can lodge?

I have told my wife a few times that yoga pants are going to cause me to get in a wreck on campus one day. Of course she is quick to remind me that I am old enough to be their Dad.
    omg did she really?

did i read somewhere that Reed may not qualify due to grades?????

He is a JUCO already

So, there are often transfer issues

I have seen some talk of a r/s year here, but I doubt he would go for that

He is gonna be a star somewhere (and get drafted)

Oh, I did not realize he was the smitten one

Heh

That might change things

I find that very funny

Bridgewater obviously has no more college eligibility left, so can I take your response to mean Bridgewater will be OC at Texas next year? Otherwise, I'm kind of lost trying to figure out how Teddy Bridgewater is an indication Shawn Watson can use scheme to make a marginal QB highly productive. Bridgewater was not a marginal talent for the conference he played in. Also, I have yet to see how Watson's scheme was the sole difference in Bridgewater's success.

The key to next season is going to be avoiding injuries at skill positions and Watson bringing some level of creativity to mask the weaknesses of the young skill players. The D will be solid. The worst thing will be another year of injury at QB. We have to get some indication whether Watson can work with the talent he has or only with the talent he wishes he had.
I respect what your saying Duke... however, I think your a little bias against Watson... which is fine because he is not exactly won me over yet as well. What I was trying to say was that Heard was a highly recruited QB and has the potential to be a great QB especially since he has had a year to develop.... by the way I do believe that Heard was better than Swoopes but they were not going to burn a RS on him last season.
