2015 Recruiting Season is in full swing

I don't know how to post tweets but Gerry Hamilton said CS in home with Mack was a 4 hour homerun.

Charlie Strong is hitting out of the park at a Hammerin Hank pace!

Y'all do remember that Coach Rumph got UT commit, A'Shawn Robinson, to flip to Bama a couple years ago? The man can recruit and coach up DL talent!
Well well well....No I did not remember that but I do remember that recruitment. A'Shawn is a freaking beast now too.

Say what?? Aggie logic at it's best..

I have no insight into Kyler Murray's head. However, I honestly feel like he went to Austin trying to pull guys to A&M, and not because he's interested in tu.....
Bwaahaahaa...like who? They came unannounced in the middle of the week and left before the OVs came in. Maybe Murray is taking Riser and Harrison.

Please where did you come up with that? I just read Kyler liked UT as a kid until we became a mediocre joke. This is business and about Kyler choosing the best school for his football and baseball career. You may be correct and he ends up at aggie land, but at this time I would be surprised. The good thing is we will know in a week.

Since you came up with a list, I thought I would do the same on why he'll come to Texas.

1. Johnny's training to be a NFL QB

2. Teddy Bridgewater's training to be a NFL QB

3. A&M's arrest record

4. He has pals and buddies at UT

5. Malik's able to give him a first hand account about being at UT which seems to be positive

6. Going against his father at this time on playing for a coach who his father doesn't think is very good.

7. Kyler has not been pro aggie and anti longhorn since he was a baby

8. Better baseball team at UT
9.   Charlie Strong will help develop him more as a person, not just as an athlete

10. Charlie Strong has demonstrated the ability and willingness to make the tough decisions required to develop a structured, disciplined program conducive to consistent long term team success… and to attracting teammates more aligned with values instilled in him by his family

Bottom line, all practical indications are that Kyler Murray has a better chance of having a more successful football and/or baseball career… and an overall productive life by attending Texas rather than A&M, IMO.

His parents recognize this… and what parents don't want more for their child?

Oh yea, almost forgot (per Bear19)

Assuming there's an in home with Murray this Friday, I say he decommits from Aggie… and commits to Texas on Monday… or at least gives strong silent to Charlie (pun intended)…and let's all his friends know he's all in Texas… to get the train rolling down the tracks..

I would not be upset in the least if Brousette went to LSU. That young man is dealing with some heavy, real life stuff right now. I got into UT while my Mom was sick. She moved back to Missouri and I told her I would transfer to Mizzou in a heartbeat. She told me "If you do that I will kick your ass son."

Classes started August 20th, she passed away June 26th. I get what he is going through and only wish him and his family the best. Football is secondary right now.
 Sham,

I agree.  Unfortunately it seems as though we have travelled a similar path.  I'm fairly familiar with you from our old days at OB and on the renegades board.  My mom had brain cancer a few years back when my wife and I were in Austin.  She was in Houston.  We moved back for her too.  She passed after 15 months fighting that thing.

How's your daughter doing?

There still seem to be questions on numbers, so let me kind of summarize the situation as I understand it. Right now we have 24 commitments, and six of those are already enrolled and count back to 2014. Merrick was offered as a gray shirt and can count against the 2016 total, so 17 current commitments count against our 2015 maximum of 25. That leaves eight scholarships to give, assuming no defections nor certain grade casualties occur before NSD.

Our known targets for those 8 slots are Mack, Jamabo, Locksley, Hill, Boyd, Warren, Reed, Baker, Murray, Lodge, and Brossette. The first five are (reportedly) highly likely to sign with UT. That leaves 3 scholarships available for the last six. I think we certainly take Warren, Murray, and Lodge if they want to come. Reed, Baker, and Brossette appear to be guys we really want and might fill spots others choose not to claim. Merrick can sign a full scholarship if we end up with a vacancy.

Please correct me if I've screwed this up.

Well we have 2 girls now and a boy. We adopted Starla's little sister and brother. They are doing great. Starla turns 5 this year and starts school.

Kids are full of long days but short years man.
