"Meh" almost all these guys RT stuff when someone tweets something at them. Lampkin said 2 days ago he's 100 percent to Texas, so I won't worry about him until there's something more substantial.

I also don't think OU is going to offer Donelly, they have several DTs higher on their board that they will probably land. I'm pretty sure Lampkin's tweet about "playing together" was in reference to Texas since he posted a pic with himself in a Texas hat flashing a Hook'em. Texas is looking at other DTs so it would make sense that we might offer Donelly (there's obviously been some type of contact if you look at who Donelly follows on Twitter).
I think anything is possible.

Supposedly ou is taking 3 DTs in this class (max).  They have two 4-star DTs committed now.  One of those, however (Overton), is a grade risk.  So, the possibility exists that ou could over Lampkin and Donnelly as a package.  And this seems to be what Lapkin is auditioning for.

In that top tweet, he is wearing a Texas hat, flashing the Horns.  In this one, he is appealing to Texas to offer Donnelly too.  And, indeed, we have been in contact with Donnelly.

But in the second, there is no pic, no UT hat, and it closes with "Boomer Sooner."  Here he seems to be suggesting ou should offer them both.

Lampkin was committed to ou before he flipped to Texas.  They never lost contact with him either -- in fact, he just did an OV to ou in December.  And Lampkin's last twitter follow is their DL coach (he is also Donnely's last follow).

To me, it does not look like Lampkin would flip back to them unless they offered both he and Donnelly.  But if ou were able to do that, it might be a deal-breaker.  Lastly, Lampkin has made a reference at one point to a "January Surprise," with nothing specific, of course.  At this point, it doesnt appear as though ou is in a position to offer both, but we will see.  It should also be noted ou is pursuing at least two other DLs at the moment (Darrion Daniels/Deonte Reynolds).

And, of course, we have Lampkin on his OV in Austin this weekend with a ton of other commits -- let's hope we can get him focused.

Worth noting -- our possible 2016 depth chart inside could be -- Poona, Nelson, Boyette, Norman (and Norman is not a lock to still be around then).  We need DTs --  and thankfully the 2016 in state DT class looks solid from now

Damarcus Lodge has formally dropped us

No visit

"because of the QB situation there."

IT^

Too bad, he's a stud

juan whats the latest with Burt? I know the coaches had an in home visit with Burt correct?? and from what i hear they are making a pursuit for Camrin Knight...lol well nevermind lol since im reading the above post lol

From Alabama online site --

John Burt (WR, Tallahassee, Fla.)

It appears time is running out on Burt. Auburn has waited a long time for Burt to come to a decision, and the word is the Tigers may be backing off at this point. Burt decommitted from Texas a couple weeks ago, but says the Longhorns are still his leader. Auburn wants to take one more wide receiver in the 2015 class and hosted plenty of them last weekend.

Ryan Davis (WR, St. Petersburg, Fla.)

Auburn landed in Davis' top four after his official visit, along with Alabama, Florida and Michigan. He sees an opportunity to get playing time early on and will announce his decision on National Signing Day. If the Tigers miss on Burt, expect Davis to come into play.

To me, the fact that Hill cannot decide between aggy or Baylor at the last minute shows he is not very serious about either.

What do you guys think?

He is also scheduled to visit Bama later, but Bama already has 7 committed 2015 DBs (including 2 five-star CBs).  They also took 3 in 2014 (again, including 2 five-star CBs).  In addition, Bama's depth chart shows the starters as a Jr (backed up by a soph and a Jr.) and a Soph (backed up by 5-star 2014 Tony Brown).

Conclusion, Bama is not a real threat for Hill.

I could be dead wrong but I think both Hill and Boyd have already told people they are heading to Texas (see some of lil Boyd and Deshon Elliot's tweets).

Looking at the number of 5-star recruits for Alabama the past few seasons... makes my head swim. And at one position. Four 5-star CBs in two years.

The funny thing is their secondary has been the biggest problem. Surely their secondary play has to improve before long.

Jesus Shuttlesworth is now calling for Lampkin to flip to ou

Thinks it will happen in the next week or so

I guess now we wait to see if he is going to show for his OV

Despite Lampkins insistence that he is solid to Texas - I just can't see him staying.  It would be extremely unfortunate for him to flip this late in the game.  Strong did a good job last year finding a couple of Florida DT's when he had this situation last season - but i don't see him being that lucky this time around.

A Lampkin de-commit could really hurt - even if I don't think he is anything close to a 'great' prospect.

We would be in dire straits if he had not snared Nelson and Ford.  And may be in dire straits anyways

Geez, can't wait until Feb 4th...this is the craziest recruiting season. What part of "100% solid" do these guys not understand. Perhaps the whole "give 110%" has screwed up athlete math forever.

The work Strong is doing with Malcom Brown and Hasan Ridgeway should be a no-brainer.

Rumor that Norvell warned us about the potential Lampkin flip

Dunno if true

but im curious though it would be common sense and courtesy if he was gonna decommit he might as well do it now and not visit at all..and something tells me ..something went down with him if he had received another offer from another school like UCLA or something and he was gonna do a flip on NSD..which would be an ignorant Ryan Perrilloux move IMO and coaches may wouldve known about it..including Strong

Update on DT Du'Vonta Lampkin from Inside Texas...we all know he's been rumored as a soft commitment for months now, but apparently the hiring of Jay Norvell gave UT more insight on what's been going on behind the scenes. Story goes that when Lampkin received a UCLA offer at the end of last year, Strong told him he would not consider him a part of this class if he took a visit. That rubbed Lampkin the wrong way and he's been planning a National Signing Day flip to Oklahoma ever since. All of the OU staff knew about it (including Norvell) and OrangeBloods received a detailed email on the situation last week. He's still scheduled to be in Austin this weekend, however.
