Jay Norvell to be hired - confirmed by UT

I agree with that. I just hope people look at Norvell's history and not one recruiting class where he could only take a few WRs. Norvell was named the top big 12 recruiter in 2012 by the 247 guys. 

Yep, I saw that, he recruited 6 WR that year. He had one 5 star, four 4 stars, and one 3 star and he was in the mix for DGB.

The main negative I saw was the lack of development of the WR's for this year. That's why they had to take a chance on DGB. Hopefully that has more to do with the OC and QB than his coaching.

I trust CS knows how to hire a coach and Jay Norvell could be a good one. But can we trust a coach from OK. Looking deep into the eyes of Jay Norvell he looks like a slime ball. and he just might give OK some of our game plans. Texas did OK a favor and reported that one of there ex coaches was giving plans to the teams OK was playing. Lets see if OK returns the favor if Jay Norvell should give away plans to OK.

I agree. I never trusted that coach we used to have from Oklahoma. If I remember correctly, he went by the initials DKR.

Remind me again just how long DKR coached at OU. Also, DKR was 31 and on the way up when he was hired, not someone who had already peaked and was on the downside of his career. 

If you think some players on the team aren't shaking their heads, remembering how not too long ago Jay Norvell was negatively recruiting against Texas you are kidding yourself.

Yea I trust Strong and Co. If he thinks this guy is going to help us, then I welcome him. Think about this, if this guy is willing to go from OU to us then he must have some desire to stick it to OU, which I sure as hell welcome when the red rivalry comes this year.

A coach will hard for any school that will hire him, that's how they put food on the table to feed their family. He also have extra motivation to work hard since he's getting medical benefits for his wife who has cystic fibrosis.

And, if it is just a paycheck, no more talk about Texas traditions. Hookers don't get to preach family values. No flashing the Hook 'Em and no singing the Eyes of Texas after the game. Just pick up your paycheck, go home and leave the traditions to people who will be around next week. The players and the fans understand he doesn't care about Texas traditions. He shouldn't just pay lip service to something that means nothing to him.

Give me a break. Assistant coaches change jobs all the time. Would you say the same thing about the rest of our coaches? My long experience with coaches is that most are professionals who take pride in their work. It is not just about a paycheck.
