2015 Recruiting Season is in full swing

We may have understandings with some kids about greyshirts.  Strong is up-front and honest.  He is not going to handle business any other way.

Hook 'em, Charlie!

If we take the full 31 this class (25 + 6 ee's), as we seem destined to do, that would put us at 90 (I think)

We will have to be at the 85 limit at some point in August (I think).  Anyone know better than me on this point of the timing?

Assuming that we do not over-sign and that 90 is the correct number then that means attrition of 5 will be coming from somewhere

That said, it certainly wasnt a problem last year and I doubt it will be this time either

After our bowl game, Strong seems to have a renewed interest in clearing the flotsam

Good I hope everyone on the team knows this and it gives everyone a little more motivation to study the playbook and get into the weight room.

I understand Mack loves mailik and changes his mind every week but do we honestly think we will get him? I would love to have him btw, drama or not this kid is a beast.

Scout Video on the Semper Fi All-American Bowl

National recruiting analyst Greg Biggins discusses what he's seen this week from defensive back Jamile Johnson Jr., linebacker Cameron Townsend, and defensive lineman Charles Omenihu, as well as from Longhorn defensive back target Holton Hill and receiver target Carlos Strickland.

Yes, but what about the jetsam?

Judging from the video interview I saw with Malik I dont think he is exactly twisting Macks arm to come to UT. He is no Charles O or Cecil Cherry in recruiting. Pretty much letting Mack make up his own mind. Maybe thats all it takes.

Tim Brewster may be in play
Rumor is contact was made
Have no way of knowing if true, but makes sense  -- position might be Assistant Head Coach, TE/ST coach/or and Co-Recruiting Coordinator.
Another great development. Brewster, J Boulware and Derek Lewis are all great options. Brewster knows Texas very well.

Previously read posts regarding Strong having options of bringing in former WR coach from Louisiville. Just wondering why that would be a good option now if he didn't bring him on initially with the move to Texas? Agree any of the above would be good options (Brewster, Lewis, Bouleware). Hopefully Brewster and his recruiting prowess will want to return. Did he grow up in Texas? Would be good if he wanted to return to his home state if that is the case. Didn't his son walk on at UT during the Brown era?

This is my guess. A little bit of a curveball.

1-Johnson

2-Boyd

3-Warren

4-Locksley

5-Hill

6-Strickland

Poster Throthefade said the other night in the chat that Mack's Dad wants him to play in the SEC.

However, Strong has yet to set down with Mack and his parents.  He will do that on the OV.  I'm sure Strong has a plan laid out to convince them to see things differently.
