Interesting Post from Marcus Johnson's Father

As some of you probably know, Marcus Johnson's Father occasionally posts over on OB. In one of the threads about what Chip Brown said about Jerrod Heard, he has posted this with no further elaboration so far.

"Get Heard's opinion and everyone else's on offense! Sad situation."

We need to remember that Marcus isn't having a good year, nor is the entire offense as a whole. If he's indicating that other players on the team would rather have Heard, then it's probably frustration coming out. Everything is changing and it's just going to take a while to get better.

That's how they come across to me as well. Not to mention, that if I was Marcus, there is no way that I would want my Dad posting anything. And if I was a coach we would be having a little "come to Jesus" meeting about it.

That is a problem.  To the untrained eye, (read: Me,) it is not a scheme problem as much as it is a depletion of depth issue.  A healthy/eligible OL with some depth cures about 90% of what ails us.  A healthy/eligible OL, with some depth, allows Swoopes time to check through his reads without running for his life, scrambling trying to find an open WR.  It allows play action to be effective.  It allows the running game to open things up for the passing game.  The only thing it does not fix is Swoopes' grasp of the offense and his accuracy; time fixes those two things. 

Someone tell me I'm oversimplifying this.  I'm pretty sure I am.

People make New Year's resolutions every year. When their environment doesn't change to accommodate them, very few people have the wherewithal to change themselves.

Similarly it takes hard work and effort to learn a new offense. Some players will change themselves to find success. Others will hope the environment changes to accommodate them and complain if it doesn't.

If there is discord on the football team, it's just human nature at work. Change is hard.

If a players parent wants to post on a message board that's all fine and dandy but I would make sure if I were the player to let them know to not let anyone know the true identity.

Too many parents embarrass the players by whining or coming off as whiners.

Let me reiterate that I am by saying I like or dislike the scheme. Just saying what I think mr Johnson means.

watsons qb is gentry. He is perfect for his offense. Now only question is will he be around still to showcase him!

Right now you have heard and swoopes being a square peg in a round hole. Swoopes has the arm to be successful. Idk if heard does in this offense.

I will say this, if heard was in a Oregon type offense he would do well.

He should probably be more worried about his own son's performance. Matter of fact, after the Baylor performance I said we might even need to look at another WR. Not sure if Marcus is injured or what but he's getting zero separation. Marcus has been one of the most disappointing players IMO.

I don't have any idea what the above quote is supposed to mean nor do I know if Marcus' father did, in fact, post it.  What I do know with certainty is that Macus' father did, in fact, post on OB before and during his recruitment...and the whole story is one of the most entertaining internet recruiting stories of all time.
