It makes absolutely no sense how Florida made the national title game over us. OU is different story, but it's absolutely pathetic that Florida got the bid to play in the title game. This is based on the final BCS rankings before bowl season in 2008.

Florida beat one ranked team in the regular season (Georgia ranked number 15 at the end of the BCS polls). They also beat Alabama in the SEC championship game (ranked 4th).

Texas beat 3 ranked teams with one less game (number 1, 13, 21 ranked teams at the end of the BCS poll).

Now let's look at the losses. Florida lost their only game to Ole Miss at home who was ranked 25. Texas lost their only game to Tech on the road who was ranked 7. Texas also lost to Tech after beating three ranked teams in a row. Florida lost to Ole Miss after playing three teams that weren't even ranked.

Just horrible.

Saying this is not going to shock anyone but I simply can not be convinced that the BCS was an unbiased form of selecting competitors. I'm not bitter about any past selections because at this point, it doesn't really matter. I just don't think that you can look at many of the past championships and say with certainty that the two best teams in College Football played in the Championship game. Which is why we have a playoff system now, however I'm sure it won't be without fault.

Yep there had to bias or the committee was just ignorant. There's no data that suggests Florida should have been in the title game over Texas. I know people were mad about OU making it over Texas, but Florida is actually the more egregious error.

2008 was just one of many BCS farces. It hit close to home for all of us, but there were many years that were egregious. Thank God it is over.

Moving forward, I anticipate the CFB Playoff selection committee will do everything in their power to avoid another LSU-Bama snoozer.  SEC rubes are delusional if they think they're entitled to two slots every year.  Just my take.

Keep the faith and Hook 'Em!
