well, the pinned landscape thread has been here 4 days and has 10 posts. Seven by the poster who started the thread. 

i don't think there's any chance of it falling off page 1 due to lack of interest.

Make sure you check the other boards here because we are moving stuff around.  Food threads will be on the Cook'Em & Cuervo Board.  Off-topic stuff will be moved to the Far West Board.  This will allow us to cut down on the pinned items while also allowing us to keep Longhorn-related posts on the Burnt Orange Board.  Thanks.

Aaron...your house, your rules but i wasn't objecting to off-topic threads. i was poking fun at the number of PINNED THREADS. 

honestly i've never visited any other forum here and if you guys move bbq/movie etc threads to 'other' forums you'll lose followers. i don't have the time or desire to surf multiple boards in the same site to discuss stuff.

my internet mentor and real life friend, armadillo slim, once described a board as neighbors talking over the back fence. sometimes sports, sometimes bbq, sometimes current events, sometimes movies and so on. 

JMO, but if you try and pigeon hole each subject on a specialized board, you';ll lose.

It's become noticeable. The whole point in doing them is to help folks who do these things themselves at their homes. Just a month or so ago, the landscape thread was running fairly well at 2-3 pages.

But this is August and people have football on the mind. That's fine, my mind is there, too. But some of the things in this month's thread - if you didn't read - you may wish you had.

I've got lots of plants that are reduced for sale posted in that thread, some more than 70% off. I can move them on Facebook pretty quickly but I wanted to offer them here to you Hornsports members first. So far, no takers.

Any particular reason why you singled me out, STP?

I think he only moved the oldest ones in an effort to preserve them somewhere (other than buried in this main forum).

I enjoy a good OT thread. Once they've run their course, I'm open to ideas on how/where to make them a bigger part of the community.

none. wasn't intended as a 'single out'. just scrolling through a half page of pinned topics until hitting new material struck me as annoying. no offense intended to you or any one topic.
