Not so much a call out but wanted to get our resident "chicken little" some info from El Machio. . . . directly on point with one of his biggest complaints. . . this just part of a larger post . . . .

1. I posted this on another thread, but there are no plans to do much to the weight room over the next few years. I had a convo with a friend of mine and asked him to dig around and one of his friends works directly with the team that puts these projects on the map for approval and she said there were no current plans for upgrades or expansion. However, Texas is aware of the gap that has been created by aggsy's new facilities and the firm they have hired to audit the program does have facilities on their agenda. So this could actually be looked at sooner than later. This is the reason we haven't heard much from Patterson on really anything. He's waiting for feedback from a nationally respected firm that is looking into the over-all fan experience as well as facilities and several other things. One thing he said is that he expects the head count in the AD to be cut significantly.

So instead of plunging in and making changes for the sake of changes. . . .Seems Mr Patterson is trying to do it right the first time. . .

Old adage. . .noone has time to do it right. . .everyone has time to do it over. . . .

Now EM is one that does in fact have some legit inside sources. . . .

But still, he's an "insider" so take it for what it's worth.

Please change your thread title. Based on that excerpt, Mahico's post has nothing to do with Randolph Duke.

Let it go cheese.

I agree with the general premise on chicken littles and rushing to judgement but the shots on duke have gotten old. And for ME to say that ain't easy.

This isn't Orangebloods.

Now I'll put my Kevlar on and await the response.

Since I am the resident "chicken little" as you would have it, I am sure you will take it in the intended spirit if I refer to you as our resident jackass.
The "nationally respected firm" is Disney. We have known about it for months. He also outsourced the ticket sales to a firm from Atlanta. We know these things.

I have never said the sky is faling. What I have said is he was as hired last November and many of us are still waiting for him to deliver something substantive. From what others have said on this board, Bellmont staff, as state employees, have essentially lifelong employment. That was the excuse a few weeks ago for why Patterson hasn't delivered much to date. I guess that has now changed and we can expect some sort of change in the Bellmont head count. To date, I think we are up to two employees who have left the staff. We will see how high that number goes.

I have embraced the world of low expectations for the Steve Patterson regime. If we expect little, we can't really be disappointed. I was hoping for a dynamic leader, but that just isn't his style. That doesn't mean he is is a bad administrator. It just means he isn't a dynamic leader. I think Texas deserves a dynamic, creative and innovative leader. Obviously, those who made the call prefer more restful style of leadership.

Since the "insiders" are in such close contact, I would still want one of them to ask Steve Patterson what number he has in mind for expenses per athlete for Bellmont. Last I knew, the average for public universities was $107k. At ASU his department was at $135k. When he took over Texas, it was around $240k. There is a lot of money being spent by Bellmont that is simply hard to rationalize. If Patterson was brought in to maintain status quo, we didn't have to pay him $1 mil base to do that. If he was brought in to effect much needed change, he has been on the job going on nine months. I understand he came in without a plan. Evidently your "insider" says Patterson has finally put one together. Like I said, I have low expectations and I realize we don't have dynamic leadership. Wake me up when things actually begin to change.
