Steve Sarkisian’s massive recruiting weekend on the 40 Acres continued to pay dividends, as the two-time College Football Playoff coach received his third commitment of the day, this time from wide receiver Kohen Brown.
Brown, a 6-0, 190 lb. speedster from Waxahachie High School, held offers from more than 40 programs including USC, Notre Dame, Miami, Ole Miss and Nebraska. He was previously committed to Lincoln Riley and USC, and received an official offer from the Longhorns on May 15th.
He committed to the Longhorns as he wrapped up his visit to Austin, despite being slated to visit Notre Dame next weekend and Ole Miss in two weeks.
Kohen is rated the 72nd best prospect in Texas and the 84th best wide receiver in the nation. He is a three-star prospect, according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings, and his recruiting stock continues to rise.
Here is what 247Sports Scouting Analyst Gabe Brooks had to say about Brown:
Productive big-play receiver who likely fits the slot at the next level but moves around the formation, including some carries, for his TXHSFB 6A squad. Strong track context provides verified speed markers, including an early Spring 2025 100-meter rep of 10.69. Linear speed shows on tape. More build-up speed than sudden explosion, but regularly stretches the field vertically and tracks the ball well in the deep third. Dangerous if allowed a clean release and a runway, including targets in the screen and jet/fly games. Encouraging multi-position, multi-phase participation vs. strong high school competition. Seam ripper and slot fade threat with open-field speed to go run it down when needed. Projects to the P4 level as a valuable piece to the receiver room.

Kohen’s commitment marks the 11th in the 2026 recruiting class and he joins Shadow Creek High School’s (Pearland, TX) Chris Stewart as the only two wide receiver commits in the class.
