On Monday, 2021 strong-side defense end Tunmise Adeleye, spoke with HornSports and revealed his thoughts on the Texas Longhorns, three things he is looking for in a school, and one very important aspect in his recruitment. We talk top schools, visits, and more!

Four-star defensive end Tunmise Adeleye already has 20 offers, 18 coming from Power Five programs.

The young player’s recruitment really started to gain traction in January and since then, a new offer almost every week is coming in for the four-star out of Tompkins High School in Katy, Texas.

The 6-foot-3, 260 pound recruit is ranked as the No. 6 strong-side defense end in the nation and the No. 7 player in the state of Texas per 247Sports.  He is also committed to play in the 2021 Under Armour All-American Game.

As an incoming junior, Adeleye already has college level size.

College scouts love the fact that he has the strength and skill to push offensive lineman to collapse the pocket. He shows the power to control the opposition’s line and has a versatile ceiling to either stay as a four-man end, or add weight to be an interior man.

Oh, his speed isn’t half bad either.

Adeleye impressed with his strength and speed back in February at the Rivals 3 Stripe Camp in Houston, taking a slew of wins in 1-on-1 drills.

February was also the last time Adeleye visited Texas, though he told us he has more visits planned.

“I will be taking a lot of visits to different schools in the summer with my teammate Jalen Milroe. We will be at Texas, Florida, Miami, Florida State, Alabama, Oklahoma, Auburn and Texas A&M.”

The friend mentioned, Milroe, is Tompkins’ four-star dual threat quarterback.

The two teammates have developed a special bond during their years playing football together, one that Adeleye does not want college coaches to underestimate.

A week ago, Adeleye posted this message on his Twitter account.

<a href="https://twitter.com/tunmiseadeleye/status/1119413819925835777" rel="external nofollow">https://twitter.com/tunmiseadeleye/status/1119413819925835777</a>

Make no mistake, Adeleye is serious about his promise to the recruiting world that he and Milroe will dawn the same college colors.

Jalen and I have been playing football together since sixth grade and we’ve been talking about playing at the same college together since eighth grade. He’s not just a friend, I consider him my family. I think of him as my little brother. A lot of coaches don’t take me seriously when I say we are going to play college ball together, but we really will be on the same team.

Out of his 20 offers, Adeleye is eyeing six schools that stand out above the rest. Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Oklahoma, Texas, and Texas A&M.

Adeleye certainly has options, but the school he will chose must have three things.

“A coaching staff that will develop me into an elite draft prospect, a degree that will separate me from my competition in the workforce, and a nice campus and town.”

A degree from the University of Texas is only one of the things that make the Longhorns an eye catcher.

“Texas stands out to me because the school has a high academic accord, it is a top ten public university in America. A degree from Texas would help propel me into the workforce.”

A good relationship with the coaching staff is arguably the biggest component for a recruit making his college decision, and the Longhorns’ defensive line coach Oscar Giles, is already making sure Adeleye feels that connection.

“Coach Giles is a really good guy, he’s down to earth and it’s easy for me to talk to him. I feel like I’m a priority to him. He stopped by today during athletic period and talked with me for a little bit.”

As a four-star recruit, Adeleye has toured many different programs and will continue to do so, though one detail he saw on his February visit to the 40 Acres, made a deep impression.

Everything is quite similar when you look at schools, everyone has good facilities and good academic staff. What I look for on visits however, is how the players feel about the coaches. When I talked to the Longhorns players, all of them had genuinely good things to say about their coaches, which is something I like. I want to be at a place where I am not just pushed by the coaches, but also able to build a meaningful relationship with them. I believe Texas is a school where that happens.

As of now, the Longhorns are in a good standing with Adeleye. His Crystal Ball Prediction has Texas leading at 75 percent, Oklahoma trialing with 25 percent.

Texas still does not have any defensive commits for the class of 2020 or 2021.
