Tre Wisner’s return to the Longhorns offense could not have come at a better time. After missing most of the season because of injury, the versatile back reminded everyone why he was such an important part of Texas’ 2024 success, when he rushed for 1,064 yards and five touchdowns.

Against Oklahoma, Wisner’s impact was clear. He powered the ground game with 94 yards on 22 carries, averaging over four yards per attempt, and added five receptions for 34 yards. His ability to make timely plays for first downs, find small creases in the Sooner defense, and pick up tough yards helped keep the Texas offense moving throughout the game.

Wisner also provided a dependable target out of the backfield and brought much needed leadership to the huddle, something the Longhorns had missed during his absence. His presence helped balance the offense and sustain drives, leading Texas to a 23-6 victory in the Red River Rivalry, their first win over the Sooners since joining the SEC.

As the Longhorns move deeper into SEC play, keeping Wisner involved will be crucial to maintaining rhythm and consistency on offense. His toughness, vision, and versatility make him a difference maker every time he steps on the field.
