Steve Sarkisian and the Texas Longhorns continue to exploit the transfer portal for their highest needs. Those needs heavily underscore positions and depth along the offensive line, which received some help today with the pickup of former Wake Forest offensive tackle Melvin Siani.
Siani, a 6-6, 302 lb. native of Ontario, Canada, originally signed with the Temple Owls before entering the transfer portal after two seasons in Philadelphia. He signed with Wake Forest in 2024 and started in all 13 games last season for the Demon Deacons. He did not allow a sack all year and was graded as the best blocker on the team by Pro Football Focus.
Siani represents the fifteenth player that has signed with Texas out of the transfer portal, joining Dylan Sikorski and Jonte Newman as offensive lineman in the group. His signing adds critical depth to a once-depleted unit and gives Steve Sarkisian and Kyle Flood options along the line.
