Recruiting News: Three Recruits Trending for Texas in the 2025 Class
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Texas is gaining momentum in recruiting with three standout players for the 2025 class: Michael Terry, Javion Hilson, and Daylan McCutcheon. Michael Terry, a 5-star athlete from Alamo Heights, is regarded as the top uncommitted prospect in the country. Known for his versatility, Terry has showcased his abilities by lining up at quarterback, running back, and wide receiver, making him a coveted asset for any program. His unique skill set and adaptability make him one of the most exciting prospects to watch as he nears his college decision. Oregon and Nebraska are also still in the mix for Terry.

On the defensive side, 4-star edge rusher Javion Hilson from Cocoa, Florida, recently decommitted from Florida State, opening up his recruitment. Hilson, who made an official visit to Austin in June, has become a priority target for the Longhorns. With his explosive pass-rushing ability and high upside, Texas is pushing hard to secure his commitment, as he would be a key addition to their defense.

Daylan McCutcheon, a 4-star wide receiver from Lovejoy, is currently committed to Florida State, but Texas is still in the mix for the talented wideout. McCutcheon is known for his excellent hands, crisp route running, and speed to stretch the field, which makes him a major offensive weapon. If Texas can flip his commitment, he would bring a dynamic presence to the Longhorns’ 2025 class, adding depth and skill to their wide receiver corps. These three prospects represent a significant recruiting opportunity for Texas as they aim to build one of the top classes in the nation.
