Third-year University of Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers was named to the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award watch list on Wednesday afternoon. The award is given to the top quarterback in college football that is designated as an upperclassman or is set to graduate with their class.
The honors come to Ewers following his naming to the preseason watch lists for the Davey O’Brien, Maxwell and Walter Camp Player of the Year Awards.
Ewers has started in 22 games for the Longhorns and has amassed 16 wins in his career. He has thrown for 5,656 yards and 37 touchdowns while on The 40 Acres, both of which are good enough to rank Top-10 all-time in Texas Football history amongst quarterbacks.
Last season when guiding his team to a Big 12 Championship and a berth in the program’s first College Football Playoff, Ewers threw for 3,479 yards and 22 touchdowns to just six interceptions.
The winner of the Unitas Golden Arm Trophy will be presented on Friday, December 6 at the Four Seasons Hotel in Baltimore, Maryland.
