According to a report from Yahoo’s Pete Thamel, Todd Orlando has been fired as defensive coordinator at Texas.

Orlando completed his third year as defensive coordinator with the Longhorns under Tom Herman, and served in the same capacity under Herman at the University of Houston. The Texas defense struggled this season, finishing 108th nationally in total defense and 8th in the Big 12. The Longhorns gave up 446 yards per game and lost to LSU, Oklahoma, TCU, Iowa State and Baylor.

His contract with the university ran through the 2020 season with a guaranteed $1.7 million.
